1881 LUXURY SUITES Overview
Honestly, when I first walked into 1881 LUXURY SUITES, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect – the name gives you a hint about the elegance, but you know how hotel names can be misleading sometimes. Well, this one actually delivers on that promise. The moment you step through those doors, there’s this immediate sense that someone really thought about every single detail, from the way the lighting hits the lobby to the subtle scent of cedar and bergamot that somehow makes you feel like you’ve entered someone’s incredibly well-appointed private residence rather than a hotel.
What really impressed me – and I mean genuinely surprised me – was how the suites feel more like luxury apartments than typical hotel rooms. The living spaces are generous without being cavernous (you know that awkward feeling in some fancy hotels where the room is so big you feel lost?), and the kitchenettes are actually functional. I’m talking real appliances, not those tiny fridges that can barely hold a bottle of wine. The bedrooms have this cozy sophistication going on, with linens that feel expensive but not precious, if that makes sense. Actually, I found myself wondering where they sourced their pillows because I slept better there than I have in months at home. The bathrooms deserve their own mention – marble everywhere, but the good kind that feels warm underfoot, not the cold institutional stuff. And honestly, the rainfall showerheads have the kind of water pressure that makes you want to extend your stay just for the morning shower experience.
The service here operates on a different level entirely. It’s not that overly formal, almost intimidating luxury hotel approach where staff hover and make you feel like you can’t touch anything. Instead, it’s more like having a really attentive concierge who happens to know exactly what you need before you realize you need it. When I mentioned offhandedly that I was hoping to find a decent coffee shop for early morning walks, the front desk manager – without me asking – left a handwritten note with three local recommendations, including one that opens at 6 AM and apparently makes the best cortado in the area. That kind of thoughtfulness feels rare these days. The housekeeping is impeccable too, but what I appreciated most was how they managed to clean thoroughly without disrupting the personal touches I’d arranged in my suite. Small thing, maybe, but it shows they’re paying attention. With a 9.0 rating, you’d expect excellence, and this place actually earns it through those accumulated small gestures rather than flashy amenities. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.
Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

The place was comfortable and the location is convenient, it is close to the main attractions in the centre. Also 20 min walking distance to the train station.
Natalie from United Kingdom – 7 January 2025 (9/10)
The location was amazing, very central and close to amazing restaurants, wine bars, and cafes. The studio apartment was spacious, modern and clean, felt very safe, with good wifi and coffee machine.
What could be improved: There could've been lamps in the room for softer lighting in the evening particularly in the winter, and the drain cover in the shower was loose, but everything worked fine and was clean.Elizabeth from United Kingdom – 19 November 2024 (9/10)
The suite was in a fantastic location. It was spacious warm clean and had a contemporary design.
What could be improved: We would have enjoyed a little more natural light but the building doesn’t allow for thisAlexandra from Romania – 3 November 2024 (9/10)
I loved this property! The location was near Arena di Verona and very close to bus stations. It was very modern and nice! Amd actually bigger than in the pictures! The beds were comfortable and I couldn‘t recomment it more!
What could be improved: What I didn‘t like was the communication with the property owners. I asked them if I could check in earlier but I did not receive any response. Arriving there I had to call 4 times for them to answer and they actually answered when I called from another number. Also, the wifi password was provided only after a day even though I asked them. And when we left and asked where to leave the keys I did not receive any response.Marco from United Kingdom – 29 October 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: Shower looked great but poor pressure so not very goodJames from United Kingdom – 29 October 2024 (8/10)
Great location right next to colosseum and easy walk to main square for bar and restaurants
What could be improved: A little noisy being above a bar, not awful and not too late into nightLisa from Ireland – 2 October 2024 (9/10)
Location, facilities, cleanliness, comfort
What could be improved: Air con didn’t work/no guest instructions or guidelines. Poor communication from host.Edward from Australia – 30 September 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location, one of the most comfortable beds of our trip so far and clean and useful facilities.
What could be improved: It is a little confusing checking in.Ade from United Kingdom – 18 September 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location, spotless accommodation and very spacious. Bedroon was at the back, which meant it was quiet at night.
What could be improved: Iron was missing and unfortunately we stayed when the shop and block next-door were being renovated. The builders started early before 8am which meant sitting in the lounge and kitchen area was noisy.Jade from United Kingdom – 17 September 2024 (8/10)
The room was lovely, modern but traditional features too
What could be improved: Shower door wasn’t attached so we couldn’t get a shower
