1921 – Le Camere Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to 1921 – Le Camere, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical three-star hotel. The name itself hints at the story — this elegant townhouse actually dates back to 1921, and honestly, they’ve done something really special with the restoration. It sits quietly on Via Rovereto in the Borgo Trento neighborhood, which I’ll tell you right now is one of Verona’s best-kept secrets. The facade has that understated Italian charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals would rather keep to themselves.
Location & Neighborhood
Borgo Trento is where you want to be if you’re serious about experiencing Verona beyond the tourist crowds. This residential area sits just north of the historic center, close enough that you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about fifteen minutes, but far enough to escape the tour groups. What I love about this location is how it puts you among actual Veronese life — there’s a fantastic morning market nearby, and the tree-lined streets feel authentically Italian rather than theme-park perfect. Couples particularly seem to get this (they’ve rated the location 9.1), probably because it strikes that perfect balance between romantic atmosphere and practical access to everything you want to see.
The Rooms
The accommodations here feel more like staying in a well-appointed Italian home than a standard hotel room. Each space has been thoughtfully designed to honor the building’s 1920s heritage while incorporating modern comforts that actually work. You know what impressed me most? The attention to details that matter — proper reading lights, enough outlets for your devices, and windows that open to let in that fresh Veneto air. The bathrooms are compact but cleverly designed, and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable.
The Experience
What sets 1921 – Le Camere apart is how it manages to feel both intimate and professional. The staff clearly takes pride in what they’ve created here, and it shows in small gestures — they’ll give you actual neighborhood recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the obvious attractions. The common areas invite you to linger a bit, maybe plan your day over coffee, or unwind in the evening. It’s the kind of place where you start to feel like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist passing through, which honestly is exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Verona.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.8 rating tells the real story here — this three-star property consistently delivers an experience that feels more refined than its official classification suggests. Guests keep mentioning how the location lets them experience Verona like locals while still being perfectly positioned for sightseeing. The combination of historical character, thoughtful modern updates, and that prime Borgo Trento address creates something special. If you’re looking for a place that offers genuine Italian hospitality without the tourist-trap atmosphere, 1921 – Le Camere delivers exactly that.
Hotel in Verona reservations rise before the Arena opera season, so smart travelers lock in Arena-view rooms ahead of time.

We loved this clean, modern and stylish room. The location was charming and only a short walk into the centre. There were super local bars and restaurants. The air con was amazing!! Lovely, lovely place to stay. We highly recommend it and such good value.

The location is great, quite a beautiful neighbourhood, the bus stop is nearby, the historical centre is close enough to walk but at a good distance so nightlife doesn't bother you while you want to sleep. Nice and quiet.
Everything is pretty new in the apartment.
Good coffee machine, nice blinders in the room and a bathroom. Good tea selection :3
What could be improved: The cooktop is listed in the photos but not actually available (not listed in the utilities), which makes the kitchen quite less useful. There are some basic cutleries and bowls/plates available.
Electric locks are noisy. You can hear your neighbours coming to the apartment and their rooms.
The lock system is super annoying at first before you memorize the PIN code. Then it gets even somewhat convenient as you never have to worry about the key.
We had a little issue with the clogged toilet but the host resolved it in about 2 hours while we were not even in the apartment.
Sily shower design with an open space that makes you shower carefully or water will be everywhere behind you. Not the worst shower I've seen with this design though, at least water doesn't overflow from the shower area – the incline is good.
The kettle in the room smelled of vinegar (the one in the kitchen was fine).Zarkovic from Serbia – 3 May 2024 (9/10)
Very comfortable apartment. It has everything you need. Plus there is very nice courtyard with chairs and table and you can read a book, drink coffee there.
It's few minutes from the top attractions yet in a quite area with beautiful villas.Cosmin from Germany – 8 September 2023 (9/10)

Jennifer from United States – 13 August 2023 (9/10)
The location was perfect. It was in a beautiful neighborhood outside of the main tourist area but still and easy 15 min walk to most main attractions. It was also close to a couple bud stops if you don’t want to walk. The host was very kind and responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here.
What could be improved: Didn’t realize the kitchen was a common room but it turned out to be ok.
