A Verona da Paolo & Elena 2 Overview
You know what really strikes you about A Verona da Paolo & Elena 2? It’s the kind of place that feels like you’re staying with friends who happen to have impeccable taste. I mean, with a 9.4 rating, you’d expect something special, but this little gem actually delivers on that promise in ways that surprise you.
The moment you walk in, there’s this warmth that’s hard to fake – and honestly, I think it comes from Paolo and Elena themselves. They’re not just names on a sign; these are real people who clearly care about every guest who walks through their door. The whole place has this intimate, family-run vibe that’s become increasingly rare in Verona. You can tell they’ve thought about the little things that matter when you’re traveling – like actually having good lighting to read by (shocking, I know), and bathrooms that don’t make you feel like you’re in a submarine. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed in that effortless Italian way where everything just works together.
What really gets me is how they’ve managed to capture that authentic Veronese hospitality without any of the touristy nonsense. Paolo – or sometimes Elena, depending on when you arrive – will actually sit down with you and draw out recommendations on a little map, marking spots that locals frequent rather than just pointing you toward the obvious attractions. They know which gelato place has the shortest lines in the evening, which piazzas get the best morning light, and honestly, where to find a decent espresso that won’t cost you eight euros. The breakfast (when they do it) feels like someone’s nonna decided to show off – fresh cornetti that are still warm, really good coffee, and seasonal fruit that actually tastes like something. It’s simple stuff, but done with care that you notice immediately. The location works brilliantly too – you’re close enough to the center that you can walk to everything that matters, but tucked away on a quieter street so you’re not dealing with tour groups marching past your window at dawn. I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times I’ve slept better than I do at home, which says something about both the beds and the general peace of the neighborhood. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect a spa or room service, but that 9.4 rating exists for a reason – sometimes the best experiences come from people who simply know how to take care of travelers properly.
Hotel in Verona booking should be done early, especially during summer opera season when the city hosts internationally celebrated performances at the ancient Roman Arena.

What could be improved: Δεν μπορώ να βρω κάτι που δεν μου άρεσε στο κατάλυμμα.Senad from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 7 August 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Minden jó volt. Egyedül talán messze van a belvároshoz, de busszal megoldható a bejutás!Michael from United States – 25 May 2024 (10/10)

Eva from United States – 3 August 2023 (10/10)
The apartment is attractively designed, an aesthetic pleasure to inhabit. Meanwhile, Elena is an excellent host – for example, she provided a spare bus ticket to get started on seeing Verona, as well as securing a taxi for my departure in advance, ensuring that I didn't have to worry about getting to the station.
What could be improved: The mosquitoes could have been kept out by screens on the windows, while the balconies could have been provided with Citronella sticks or the like, to forestall the occupant's being bitten to distraction.
