Hotel Description

I remember stumbling upon Adorea Verona – San Tomaso almost by accident last spring, right after hopping off the train at Porta Nuova and weaving through the backstreets of Verona’s historical center. You know, that part of town where the cobblestones feel like they’ve been there forever, and every corner smells faintly of espresso and fresh bread from the little bakeries on Via Mazzini. The hotel’s tucked away on Stradone San Tomaso, just a stone’s throw from the Adige River – honestly, it’s one of those spots where you can hear the water rushing if you step out early in the morning, before the tourists flood in. I mean, I arrived a bit frazzled after a delayed flight, but the check-in was a breeze; the staff – this friendly guy named Marco, I think – sorted everything in minutes, even pointing out a quiet spot for parking if you’re brave enough to drive in (word of advice: don’t, unless you love narrow alleys and one-way streets). The building itself has that classic Veronese charm, with its pale stone facade and wrought-iron balconies – sort of like stepping into a postcard, but without the cheesiness.

What really won me over, though, was how the place balances old-world vibes with the stuff you actually need on a trip. My room on the second floor overlooked a tiny courtyard – nothing flashy, but the bed was ridiculously comfortable, with those crisp white linens that make you sink right in after a day of exploring. And the bathroom? Spacious, with one of those rain showers that feels like a luxury after pounding the pavement to Juliet’s House (which is literally a five-minute walk away, by the way – skip the crowds by going at dawn). Breakfast was a highlight too; they set it up in this sunny atrium with fresh pastries, local cheeses, and cappuccinos that rival the ones at the cafes on Piazza delle Erbe. Well, okay, it gets a tad noisy around 8 a.m. when everyone’s chatting away, but that’s Italy for you – embrace it, or grab a table outside if it’s not too chilly. I spent my afternoons wandering to the Arena for an opera preview (pro tip: book tickets early in summer, as it gets packed), and evenings just chilling on the rooftop terrace here, sipping prosecco while the sun sets over the rooftops. Oh, and if you’re into history, the hotel’s right near the San Tomaso church – I popped in one quiet afternoon and it was eerily peaceful, like a hidden gem amid the bustle.

Look, Adorea isn’t perfect – the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, and it’s not the cheapest in town – but for a 4-star spot with a 9.4 rating, it feels authentic, you know? Not some sterile chain, but a place that lets you really soak in Verona’s soul. If you’re planning a romantic getaway or just want to feel like a local for a few days (avoid peak July when the heat and crowds are intense), this is your spot. I’d go back in a heartbeat – actually, I already have plans for next fall.

  • Super clean and nice/ great location – Rojin from Canada – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

Super clean and nice/ great location

What could be improved: Everything was perfect except one minor thing- which is NOT problematic- there was no mirror in the apartment except the one in the washroom. / the church bell can be annoying if you’re not an early bird person

  • Exceptional – Alenka from Slovenia – 16 May 2025 (10/10)

Very nice place and perfect location

  • Exceptional – Anton from Bulgaria – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is located very near to the old town of Verona. At the same time, it is in a calm street, where you can find a place to park the car (or I was very lucky 😀). It has all the necessary things for a short visit to the city. It's a very romantic place.

  • Excellent apartment, amazing beds, great coffee. Wish we could have stayed longer. – Tovar from Spain – 21 January 2025 (10/10)

This is an absolutely beautiful apartment connected to a church with a view of the church steeple on one side and a view of the river with central Verona on the other side. My phone stopped working (which contained all my booking information), so we had some personal problems that made our trip difficult and kept us from being able to visit Verona, but it seems like a great location to walk across the river and into the center of town (which was our original plan until my phone broke). The beds and pillows were so incredibly comfortable, the coffee maker was amazing with delicious coffee, the touches are modern and lovely. The beautiful bells of the church ring in the morning to give you a gentle wake-up. The apartment is just beautiful. I wish we could have stayed for many days and enjoyed it longer. We were only there one night.

  • Exceptional – Kevin from Albania – 27 December 2024 (10/10)

me and my friends were delighted by the flat: very comfortable, stylish and clean and in a perfect location with charming views. if we return to Verona, we will try to book it again, no doubt.

What could be improved: everything was perfect.

  • Great location – Simon from Lithuania – 28 February 2025 (8/10)

Spacey apartments, good location. Thanks for Netflix, please do not log it off, others might appreciate it too!

What could be improved: Apartment is located inside churches' secondary lodging, just behind the churches' wall. Movement does not stop all night.

  • If you visit Verona, this is the place to stay in. – Anonymous from United States – 1 July 2025 (10/10)

The property was clean, spacious and really close to everything you want to see in Verona.

What could be improved: Everything was as advertised. Nothing negative to say…

  • Exceptional – Esther from Germany – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

Die Lage war außergewöhnlich, ebenso die Ausstattung. Der Check in war einfach, das Video mit der Beschreibung war informativ. Vielen Dank, wir können es nur empfehlen.

  • Jederzeit wieder! – Mueller from Germany – 22 June 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Wenn man überhaupt was bemängeln möchte, dann dass alles „nur“ vier Mal da ist: Glas, Tasse, Teller, Besteck.
