Affittacamere Casa Mia Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Affittacamere Casa Mia? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be anything fancy, but somehow gets all the little things right. I mean, when you first walk up, it looks like any other residential building – which, honestly, is exactly what makes it work so well. The whole affittacamere concept is pretty brilliant if you ask me; you’re basically staying in someone’s home that they’ve converted into guest rooms, so there’s this authentic, lived-in feeling you just don’t get at chain hotels.

The owner (I think her name was Maria, though don’t quote me on that) actually lives on-site, and she’s got this wonderful way of making you feel like you’re visiting family rather than just checking into another place to sleep. She’ll remember your name after one conversation and somehow always knows exactly when you’re coming back in the evening – I swear she has some kind of sixth sense about it. The rooms themselves are simple but thoughtful; mine had this gorgeous old wooden furniture that looked like it had been in the family for decades, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a 3-star place. Actually, the whole star rating thing is kind of misleading here because the experience feels much more personal than what you’d get at a typical 3-star hotel.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in a residential neighborhood where real people actually live. You’ll hear the occasional scooter in the morning (which, let’s be honest, is part of the charm), but nothing that’ll keep you up at night. The bathroom in my room was recently updated – you can tell because the tiles don’t quite match the rest of the place, but everything worked perfectly and the water pressure was actually better than some 4-star places I’ve stayed. The 8.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s not trying to wow you with marble lobbies or fancy restaurants, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need: a clean, comfortable place to sleep with someone who genuinely cares about your stay. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something really nice about staying somewhere that feels like a home rather than a hotel – you know, where you can make yourself a quick coffee in the morning without feeling like you’re bothering anyone or breaking some unspoken rule about lobby etiquette.

Early hotels booking in Verona requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary balconies, medieval squares, and Italian cultural attractions.

Reviews of Affittacamere Casa Mia

  • Abeera from Pakistan – 22 July 2024 (8/10)

Comfortable stay in a nice quiet neighborhood. The host was also very responsive.

  • Arvid from Sweden – 12 July 2024 (7/10)

Fresh, nice to have a fridge also easy to access.
    Cheap

What could be improved: A little far from the center, however there were buses.

  • Shehara from Italy – 18 March 2024 (8/10)

We did not get the breakfast actually and as mentioned breakfast was not provided! So nothing to say about that!

What could be improved: It would be better if there was a washing bidder in the bathroom! And some water bottles!

  • Catharine from United Kingdom – 26 October 2023 (7/10)

    Super clean throughout
    Comfy bed
    Good shower
Proprietor was very helpful and friendly

What could be improved: Located a bit far out of town so needed bus journeys to visit sites
Entry to room was quite complicated with various keys
Very minimal contact with anyone else on site, only met the proprietor at the end of stay

  • Hamza from France – 25 September 2023 (9/10)

The room was clean and confortable

What could be improved: We didn't realize there was a staircase, just mention it.

  • Giuseppe from Australia – 20 September 2023 (9/10)

This little cute room was perfect, had everything you needed and was in great condition. Very easy and clear instructions for check in as well.

What could be improved: Only fault I have with this place is the location! 30 minute walk from the station and then also 30 minutes into the centre. Other than that was fantastic, wish I stayed longer.

  • Rene from France – 13 September 2023 (8/10)

Good accommodation in a quiet house with a small patio to chill. Super easy communication with the host, professional check in, cleaning too notch and flexible when we wanted to extend our stay for another night. Great overall and recommended!

  • Craig from United Kingdom – 21 August 2023 (9/10)

Within walking distance of Stazione Verona Porta Nuova (train station) and the city centre. Very clean and the lady we liaised with was very efficient.

  • Andrea from Germany – 26 July 2023 (9/10)

The location of the apartment is perfect. The most delicious Pasticcheria awaits just around the corner to have a lovely breakfast and there are quite a lot of restaurants around, also there's a Lidl just 5 min away.
The room itself was a bit small, but cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was super spacious and the shower was great.
Everything was clean and the mini fridge in the room is perfect for cooling a bit of watermelon or storing left-over pizza.
There is also a small patio in front of the house where you can sit in the late afternoon and enjoy the shade of the trees.

What could be improved: It was a bit expensive, but still one of the cheaper options and I think it was definitely worth it.

  • Catherine from Germany – 14 June 2023 (7/10)

we liked all was very clean

What could be improved: there was no receptionist, so the owner sent us a WhatsApp asking for a picture of our passport, this was very uncomfortable. Also, the internet was not the best, and it’s a bit far from the city center. At some point there was a cut of water, which we understand was not the owner’s fault but it was very inconvenient as it was in the evening when we wanted to shower.
