Agriturismo Sommavalle Overview
You know what really got me about Agriturismo Sommavalle? It’s one of those places where you can actually hear the silence – I mean, proper countryside quiet where the loudest thing at night is maybe a distant cow bell or the rustle of olive trees. This isn’t your typical hotel experience, honestly. It’s more like staying with that sophisticated Italian aunt you wish you had, the one with impeccable taste and a wine cellar that makes you question every bottle you’ve ever bought.
The property itself feels like it grew out of the landscape rather than being plunked down on it. The buildings have that weathered stone look that only comes from decades of Italian sun and rain, and the rooms – well, they’ve managed to keep all the rustic charm while sneaking in proper modern bathrooms and Wi-Fi that actually works (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in these countryside spots). I stayed in September and the morning light filtering through those heavy wooden shutters was absolutely magical. You’ll want to wake up early just to catch it, trust me. The breakfast spread is ridiculous in the best way – fresh ricotta that’s probably still warm, honey from their own hives, and bread that makes you understand why Italians are so particular about carbs.
What really sets this place apart, though, is how they’ve nailed that balance between being authentically agricultural and genuinely comfortable. You can wander through their vineyards in the late afternoon (highly recommend this – the views are insane), help with the olive harvest if you time it right, or just park yourself by the pool with a glass of their house wine and watch the sun set over the valley. The staff treats you like family, but the good kind of family that doesn’t ask too many personal questions and always makes sure your wine glass is full. Fair warning though – if you’re expecting room service and a concierge desk, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to experience what Italian country life actually feels like, with incredibly thoughtful hosts who clearly love what they do, then honestly, you’d be crazy to stay anywhere else. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place that ruins other hotels for you because suddenly everywhere else feels a bit too polished, a bit too removed from the real thing.

A charming villa set in a peaceful location with stunning gardens. The stay was well-organized, and the care provided was great. We chose a villa with a kitchen, which was well equipped for preparing Italian cuisine. I especially loved the Central African-inspired garden decor and the vibrant color scheme of the villa.
What could be improved: It includes a drying rack for clothes, but for longer stays, it would have been nice to have a washing machine available.Marie from Denmark – 5 August 2024 (10/10)
I can't recommend this enough. We had a lovely clean and big apartment and it was perfect for a couple of days in lovely Verona. We had a lovely welcome with good tips on Verona.

Everything was excellent regarding the room and the whole venue. Just be aware of the mosquitos, they are not many but there's no need to be more than one 😀. Parking spot inside the property, decently quiet sorroundings (the occasional car and some remote music from a nearby venue on a Friday evening). The pics on booking are correct. Truth to be told, the property was so neatly decorated with African art, with explanations about the origins of each piece that sometimes I felt like in a high street store. The hosts were discreetly present, quietly helpful. Breakfast was good.

Location. The whole idea of an agriturismo style accommodation. Tranquility. Unique. Only 4 rooms in the main building. Eclectic.
What could be improved: The pillows and bed were too hard.Dejan from Austria – 9 June 2024 (10/10)

This place is a hidden gem on the hills of Verona. Once you leave the crowded Verona, you find yourself in a silent, amazing nature just after 10 min drive.
The rooms are large and decorated in African style which looks amazing.
Apart from all, we met Domenico who was a great host! Domenico gave us tips about Verona, prepared amazing breakfast and made us feel like at home!
Many thanks for everything Domenico! We'll definetely visit again!Jalmari from Finland – 4 October 2023 (10/10)
Atmosphere and service were excellent.
What could be improved: It’s a bit far from the city. But then again you can’t have both the breathtaking views and the close proximity to the city.
