Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Air Suite Verona on a balmy evening last summer – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets buzz with opera lovers spilling out from the Arena. The address is Corso Porta Nuova 11, but heads up, check-in’s actually next door at number 16, which threw me off for a second until I spotted the discreet sign. It’s right in the historical center, smack on that wide boulevard leading straight from the train station to Piazza Bra – super handy if you’re hauling luggage like I was after a quick hop from Milan. Honestly, the location’s a gem; you’re steps from those charming cafes on Via Mazzini, where locals grab their morning espresso, and just a five-minute stroll to Juliet’s balcony if you’re into that romantic Shakespeare vibe. But fair warning, Corso Porta Nuova can get noisy with evening traffic – scooters zipping by and all – so if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room facing the inner courtyard. I mean, it’s not a deal-breaker, but it adds that real-city hum you either love or pack earplugs for.
Stepping inside, the place feels more like a stylish apartment block than your typical hotel – well, it’s called Air Suite for a reason, with these airy, modern suites that come with kitchenettes stocked with basics like fresh ground coffee (a lifesaver for my jet-lagged mornings). My room on the third floor had these high ceilings and big windows letting in that golden Verona light, plus a balcony overlooking the street where I sipped prosecco watching the world go by. The decor’s sort of minimalist chic – think sleek wooden floors that creak just a tad underfoot, soft linens that smell faintly of lavender, and bathrooms with rain showers that actually deliver on pressure, unlike some spots I’ve stayed. Breakfast isn’t included, but they partner with a nearby bakery for vouchers – I grabbed flaky cornetti and cappuccino at that little place on Via Roma, dodging tourists en route to the Roman theater. Oh, and parking’s a bit of a hassle in this pedestrian-heavy zone; they have a deal with a garage a block away, but book it ahead during festival season when everything’s packed. It’s rated 8.4 for good reason – clean, comfy, with staff who chat like old friends, sharing tips on avoiding the crowds at Castelvecchio (go early, they said, and they were right).
All in all, if you’re after a spot that feels authentically Veronese without the stuffy hotel chains, Air Suite’s your pick. It’s not flawless – the Wi-Fi dipped out once during a thunderstorm, and elevators can be slow when everyone’s checking out – but those quirks make it feel lived-in, you know? I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially for a longer stay to explore the Valpolicella wine region just outside town. At four stars, it’s solid value, blending convenience with that intimate touch that turns a trip into something memorable.

The room was very nice and quiet. The window shutters blocked the sunlight very effectively.

What could be improved: The room is not located in the hotel building, you need to cross the street to go to breakfastAnna from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Only one key and keycardCraig from New Zealand – 28 January 2025 (9/10)
Brand new and luxurious
What could be improved: Aircon was not able to be adjusted, and no cool function ‘because it was winter’; disappointing for someone that cannot sleep without cool moving airChloe from United Kingdom – 14 January 2025 (8/10)
The hotel room was very large and spacious. The room was very nice and bathroom was Lovely. Very close to the centre which is good. Felt very secure in the property.
What could be improved: The check in process was confusing as have to check in at hotel over the road however soon sorted this. There were no staff in reception of the hotel therefore means leaving the property if needing to speak to anyone.Tara from United Kingdom – 12 December 2024 (9/10)

The bathroom was amazing, with two showers in it
The breakfast was full of choices and really good
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was perfect

Good location in terms of restaurants and sites. Excellent staff. Very helpful. Nice breakfast.
What could be improved: Air Suite is across a busy street from the hotel where you check in, go for information and have breakfast. It’s a bit of a pain going back and forth, especially when you forget something in your room.
