Walking up to Al GrattacieloTrenta on Via Gian Matteo Giberti, you immediately get that feeling you’re somewhere special in Verona. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly into the historical center — it’s not trying too hard, but you can tell this is a four-star property that knows what it’s doing. I mean, the location alone tells you everything you need to know about the attention to detail here.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Verona, and this spot is pretty much unbeatable. You’re literally in the heart of everything — and I don’t mean that in the generic travel brochure way. Step outside and you’re walking on ancient Roman stones, with Juliet’s balcony just a few minutes away on foot. The couples who rate this place so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10) aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about being able to wander through medieval streets and then come back to your comfortable base. You know what’s great? You can actually walk to the Arena di Verona without breaking a sweat, and the evening passeggiata route is right at your doorstep.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and Italian charm that you don’t always find. The space felt thoughtfully designed — not cramped like some historic center hotels can be, but cozy enough that you feel like you’re really in Verona, not some generic business hotel. The windows open onto the street life below, which is either charming or lively depending on your perspective (and the time of night). What I appreciated was how quiet it actually got once you closed the windows — good soundproofing is something you really notice when you find it.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have this nice rhythm to them. You can grab coffee downstairs or venture out to one of the local bars where the Veronese actually go — there’s a particularly good one about two blocks away that serves proper cappuccini. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to eat dinner or which gelato place won’t disappoint. I found myself coming back to the hotel between sightseeing sessions, partly because it was so centrally located, but also because it felt like a proper retreat from the tourist crowds.

That 9.4 rating isn’t just about the location, though that’s certainly a huge part of it. There’s something about Al GrattacieloTrenta that feels authentic to Verona — you’re staying in a real neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. The combination of being steps away from major sights while still feeling like you’re experiencing local life is pretty rare. Plus, when you’re exploring a city like Verona where everything worth seeing is walkable, having a comfortable, well-located home base makes all the difference in how your trip unfolds.

  Excellent location for for those arriving by train, and within walking distance of city centre / main part of town. Arianna was a fantastic host – super nice and sharing recommendations. The apartment was nice and with a balcony.

  Easy 10 minute walk to both the station and to the old town centre. The sound insulation was superb, you would have no idea it was in a city, wonderfully quiet and very secure. The host was lovely. She communicated well before the day and she met us early to coincide with our train time, she also allowed us to keep our luggage there safely until we needed to leave for our flight. The flat was clean and spacious and had everything you need. Would definitely recommend.
  
  What could be improved: Whilst the air conditioning made it far more comfortable than the outside temperatures of 33 degrees, it did struggle to get below 24 degrees.

  Very modern and tastefully decorated. Comfortable bed and I loved the little balcony for my morning coffee and my evening glass of wine in the sun. Supermarket very nearby and just a short walk to the Arena and all the Piazza Bra with lots of restaurants and bars. Arianna a super host with very good communication and seems like a lovely person. Would highly recommend her lovely apartment.
