Antica Residenza Adua Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Antica Residenza Adua on Via Adua, you immediately sense you’ve found something special. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Verona‘s historic center, and I mean literally — you’re steps away from everything that matters. The building itself has that weathered Italian elegance that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-appointed family palazzo rather than a typical hotel.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot — you can roll out of bed and be at Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes on foot. The Piazza delle Erbe, where locals still do their morning shopping, is practically your backyard. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “centrally located,” but this one delivers without the tourist trap feeling. You know what’s really nice? Couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10, and honestly, I get it. There’s something romantic about being able to wander these ancient streets without having to trek back to some distant hotel district.
The Room Experience
The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. Each room feels thoughtfully designed — not cookie-cutter corporate, but not trying too hard to be quirky either. The furnishings respect the building’s age while giving you everything you actually need. I particularly appreciated the attention to details like proper lighting for reading and outlets where you’d expect them to be. The bathrooms are compact but well-planned, which is pretty much what you want in a historic Italian building.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have a lovely rhythm to them. You’ll hear the city waking up outside your window — not traffic noise, but the gentle sounds of shopkeepers opening up and locals heading to work. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, offering recommendations that feel personal rather than scripted. They know the neighborhood intimately, which makes sense given how embedded this place feels in the local fabric. I found myself asking them about everything from where to find the best gelato to which churches are worth visiting.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Antica Residenza Adua apart is how it manages to feel both intimate and professional. You’re not just another tourist passing through — the scale of the property means the staff actually remembers you. The location score of 10.0 isn’t just marketing speak; it reflects how rare it is to find a place this well-positioned that doesn’t sacrifice character for convenience. Whether you’re planning romantic evening strolls or serious sightseeing, you’ll appreciate being able to drop your bags and explore without complicated logistics. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing Verona as a temporary resident rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of Antica Residenza Adua
Ajetam from Slovenia – 14 March 2025 (9/10)
The location was great. Right in the ''front door'' of the old city. Everything available in walking distance.
Ana from United Kingdom – 1 October 2024 (9/10)
Very well equipped apartment close to the old town.
What could be improved: Sofa bed was not comfortable to sleep.David from United Kingdom – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
Location was amazing as it was so central and it was a really good size. It was clean and in good condition.
What could be improved: The communication from the owner was quite poor. We were left to the very last minute to know how we were supposed to enter the property. When we finally did receive instructions they were somewhat vague. Had to video call the owner so that they could show us. For anybody else wondering… After picking up the keys in the lock box, you go through the main gate, through another gate. Walk to the back of the courtyard and there is a glass door on your right (entrance B). The flat is the first one on the right (flat 9).Arisa from United Kingdom – 23 July 2024 (9/10)
Great location, really high ceilings, functioning AC, spacious
What could be improved: No parking – we found street parking across the closest bridge (5-10min walk)Charles from United Kingdom – 26 May 2024 (9/10)
Very central, the apartment is in a quiet area considering the central location. We had 1 small issue but was resolved very quickly and efficiently.
Apartment had all the amenities required and was a delight to stay in.
I would stay again if we visited Verona again.Chona from United Kingdom – 12 July 2023 (9/10)
It was in the historic centre within walking distance of a lot of places tourist wants to visit , the place was in private gated area and its very quite the apartment is nice and clean and has everything you need .the host was very kind and helpful, would definitely recommend to anyone who want to visit Verona.
What could be improved: There's nothing not to like.Eirini from Greece – 12 May 2023 (9/10)
The Residence is situated between Ponte della Vittoria and Porta Borsari which was a most convenient location for walking around the old part of the city, close to cafes, restaurants and places to see, and the Arena. The apartment was spacious, with high ceilings, and very clean. It was on the ground floor, with high barred windows. The kitchen was fully equiped, with a big fridge so a visitor could prepare their own meals if they wanted to.Wi-fi worked perfect. Shower worked, and there was a washing machine in case anyone wanted it.
What could be improved: The bed had 4 pillows, and all of them had the same size, which was too big for my taste, so sleeping was not as comfortable as I would have wanted. The bed however was comfortable enough, and the lighting was very convenient. There was only liquid soap for handwashing and liquid showergel. in the bathroom. I would have appreciated some shampoo as well. I had trouble contacting the owner of the place, but eventually we managed to communictae with messages on Whatsapp. We never met in person, but had an arrangement of where to find the keys when I arrived, and where to leave them at checking out. Although the apartment had the istallation for central heating, it didn't work, but there was an air-conditioner on the hall. Fortunately the place in May was not cold and the apartment was warm enough.Stefan from Romania – 11 April 2023 (9/10)
