What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to blend the historical elements with modern comfort – and honestly, that’s not always easy to pull off. The suites themselves are spacious (which is saying something, because let’s be real, European hotel rooms can be pretty tiny), and they’ve got this warm, lived-in feeling that makes you want to actually hang out in your room instead of just crashing there at night. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you experience the attention to detail – I’m talking about things like really good linens, proper lighting for reading, and bathrooms that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The staff seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re comfortable, which you notice in little ways throughout your stay.

Now, I’ll be straight with you – this is a 3-star property, so don’t expect a massive lobby with marble everything or a concierge who can work miracles. But that’s actually part of its charm. It feels more like staying at a really well-appointed friend’s place than a corporate hotel. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, and the whole vibe is just… relaxed, I guess? You’re not dealing with crowds of tour groups or feeling like you need to dress up to walk through the lobby. If you’re the type of traveler who appreciates character over flash, and you want a place that feels genuinely welcoming rather than just professionally polite, this could be exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, that rating didn’t come from nowhere – when a smaller property consistently gets reviews like that, it usually means they’re doing the fundamentals really, really well.

  Charming quaint room in a little piazza, good location, compact and bijou room. Weather was incredibly hot, so a/c could have been better, and no toiletries in bathroom. But drinks in fridge!! And netflix and cute little table 🙂 host was wonderful- above and beyond- despite our early arrival and room not being ready yet, he let us in to be able to change our clothes 🙂 v good communicator!!

  Ideal location: in the university district (university students were on summer break), minutes' walk to the historical centre of the city, excellent cafe across the street for breakfast. Large room and extremely quiet and peaceful. Host was always available and friendly.
  
  What could be improved: Only a sheet on the bed was provided, but it was a very warm summer and blankets were not actually needed; no soap or shampoo in shower. The chair was stained from other guests.
