Hotel Description

You know, when I first pulled up to 54 Via Antonio Pisano in Borgo Venezia, I was honestly a bit skeptical – Verona’s all about that romantic historic center with the Arena and Juliet’s balcony, right? But this spot, tucked away in a quieter residential area east of the Adige River, turned out to be a total gem. It’s not smack in the middle of the tourist chaos, which is actually a blessing if you’re driving in; parking can be a nightmare closer to Piazza delle Erbe, but here on these side streets, I snagged a spot right outside without much hassle – though watch out for the permit zones if you’re staying longer than a day. The neighborhood feels lived-in, with locals buzzing around on scooters and that faint smell of fresh bread from the bakery down on Via XX Settembre, just a 10-minute walk away. I mean, it’s Verona, so you’re still only about a 20-minute stroll or a quick bus ride to the main sights, but coming back here after a day of crowds felt like escaping to your own little oasis.

Stepping inside the apartment – well, it’s more like a cozy home than some sterile hotel room, which is why it gets that stellar 9.3 rating, I reckon. The place is rated three stars, but honestly, it punches above its weight with that lovely garden out back; picture this lush patch of green with blooming lavender and rosemary bushes that hit you with this amazing herbal scent first thing in the morning (perfect for sipping your espresso under the vines – they even have a little wrought-iron table set up). The apartment itself is compact but thoughtfully done – think soft, worn-in linens on the bed, a kitchenette stocked with basics so you can whip up a pasta from the market on Via Fama nearby, and big windows letting in that golden Italian sunlight. Check-in was a breeze; it’s self-service with a code, no awkward lobby waits, though I did fumble with the door lock once after a late night out. Noise-wise, it’s blissfully quiet, especially in the evenings when the only sounds are distant church bells or maybe a neighbor’s chatter – way better than the party vibes in the center during opera season in summer. Oh, and if you’re traveling with a pet or just need space to unwind, that garden’s a lifesaver; I spent an afternoon reading there, bees humming around, totally forgetting I was in a city.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually living in Verona rather than just visiting – you know, popping into that family-run trattoria on Via San Nazaro for some risotto without the tour groups – this apartment’s where it’s at. It’s not perfect; the bathroom’s on the smaller side, sort of like those old European setups where you have to maneuver carefully, but that’s minor compared to the charm. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season when Verona’s less crowded and you can really savor the garden’s peace. Trust me, it’s the kind of place that makes you rethink those big-chain hotels downtown.

  • Verona Vacation – Michele from New Zealand – 27 April 2025 (10/10)

Communication with the host, Louis, was easy, and he was very quick to help me get into the apartment. The apartment itself is just beautiful, with a peaceful garden and a lovely area to sit outside in the sun. It is a haven. Super easy to find the nearby supermarket, which has everything you need. I liked staying here and would recommend this place to anyone wanting space, a wonderful kitchen setup up and a washing machine. The bedroom is large with a beautiful chandelier. I felt like I was staying in someone's home. It made a very pleasant change to a hotel room. There is a bus stop right outside that will take you to the bus and railway stations. Thank you, Louis.

What could be improved: Everything was fine.

  • Lovely ❤️ – Adrian from Spain – 4 March 2025 (10/10)

Lovely place, cozy warm and true to the city.

What could be improved: Little bit far away from the city center.

  • Neat place, responsive host and conveniently located! Grazie 🙂 – Kateryna from United Kingdom – 2 February 2025 (10/10)

Tastefully furnished and well equipped for home cooking with all the essentials, oil salt pepper etc.
Master bedroom had full size wardrobe suitable for longer stays. Lovely little garden area, which we were able to enjoy once even when we went in the winter. I imagine it’s paradise in the summer!

What could be improved: Bring a pair of slippers if staying in the winter, floors are cold (which is great for the summer I’d imagine!

  • Best host ever! Thank you guys! – Robert from Spain – 9 December 2023 (10/10)

Lovely and cozy, all facilities you could need, good hot water and heat. Nothing to complain about

  • We love it here 🙂 – Barbora from Czech Republic – 3 August 2023 (10/10)

It's great that the apartment has a dishwasher, a washing machine, a garage and, most importantly, a garden with a sitting area. The journey to the center is easy and takes around half an hour. The neighborhood is quiet. Buses run right in front of the apartment and the station and shops are also a short walk away.

What could be improved: There's nothing here we don't like. maybe it would be great if there was a grill available in the garden

  • Great choice and good value as long as you don't mind being out of the centre. – David from United Kingdom – 20 July 2023 (8/10)

Located in a housing area some distance from the centre of Verona but with regular buses to Piazza Bra and the railway station. Close to the property was a square with Pasticceria Borsaro for morning coffee and cake and later in the day Eleven Cafe where Frederico served up nibbles with Campari spritz or beer. Apartment was very comfortable comprising one living room/kitchen one large bedroom with double wardrobe one bathroom and a utility room with washing machine. Although no air conditioning the apartment was always very cool after a day in the sun. There was a mix up on arrival but Louis was very apologetic and generous and this did not detract from our stay.

  • Very good – Mihaela from Belgium – 1 July 2023 (8/10)

Big apartament with lovely garden, very good location near the historical center and shops (supermarket, pharmacy etc.)
