Honestly, when I first stumbled upon ApartmentsArena – Residenza Dei Doganieri – Verona, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, right? But you know what, this place completely won me over. It’s tucked away in one of those quieter corners of Verona where you actually feel like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through as another tourist with a camera. The building itself has this lovely old-world charm – I mean, “Doganieri” literally refers to customs officers, and you can sense the history in these walls. The apartments are spacious in that wonderful Italian way where rooms actually breathe, not like those cramped hotel boxes you sometimes get stuck with.

What really struck me was how the place manages to feel both elegant and completely livable at the same time. The furnishings are tasteful without being stuffy – think clean lines mixed with classic Italian touches that don’t scream “rental property.” The kitchens are properly equipped too, which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in Verona every night can get pretty pricey (though trust me, you’ll want to splurge at least a few times). The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s polished and comfortable without being overly fancy or intimidating. And that 9.1 rating? Yeah, I get it now. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is rarer than it should be these days.

The location is what really sealed the deal for me though. You’re close enough to walk to the main attractions – the Arena’s not far at all, hence the name I suppose – but you’re also in a proper neighborhood where locals actually live and work. There’s this fantastic little café just around the corner where the barista makes proper cappuccinos (not the tourist traps near Juliet’s balcony), and honestly, starting my mornings there became part of my routine. The streets are quieter at night too, which meant I could actually sleep with the windows open and catch those lovely evening breezes without the constant hum of tour groups. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving – welcome to Italian cities – but the staff gave me some insider tips that worked out perfectly. I’d definitely come back here, and that’s saying something because I’m usually the type who likes trying new places. Sometimes you just know when you’ve found somewhere special, you know?

  The apartment is perfectly located just minutes from the centre of the old town and its shops bars and restaurants. It was spotless and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and responsive when we called – which all helped make our holiday effortless.

  Very organized and clear communication! Rooms were comfortable, with air conditioning, blackout shades and sheers. Bathroom was clean and with good ventilation. Kitchen was great, had lots of pans for the cooktop, but no pans for the oven. Responsive host. Located on a quiet street minutes from the Arena.
  
  What could be improved: Lack of oven pan. Apartment C had 2 dishwasher tablets but Apartment A had none. These are minor things.

  In Italy they are generally using a special system to unlock the doors via the handy, so, for the access you need the internet, but anyway it was very easy to enter the inside, both to building and the apartment. The flat is only 2 minutes walk to the Verona Arena. Nice place, nice flat. The picture is the view from the flat, an old nice but closed cinema building.
  
  What could be improved: There is no complaints about the flat but if you are travelling by car, the flat is on a ZTL (limited car zone in Italy) street closed to public cars. So you need to stop on a corner, transport the luggages to the flat and take the car to a very close parking area. It is not a problem with adults but could be a little problematic with small kids. Anyway, the. Flat and the place were marvellous, I’m writing just for the fathers like me, with small kids 😁😁
