ApartmentsArena – Suite Mercatorum – Piazza Erbe Overview
You know what really surprised me about ApartmentsArena – Suite Mercatorum – Piazza Erbe? It’s actually positioned right where all the action happens, but somehow you don’t feel like you’re trapped in tourist chaos. I mean, you’re literally steps from Piazza delle Erbe – and I’m talking about the actual piazza where locals still do their morning shopping, not some sanitized version for visitors. The suite itself feels more like staying in a well-appointed Italian apartment than your typical hotel room, which honestly makes sense given the name.
The space has this authentic Verona character that you just can’t fake – think original stone details mixed with modern touches that actually work together. I particularly loved how they’ve kept some of the historical elements intact while making sure you’ve got proper Wi-Fi and a kitchen that’s genuinely functional (not one of those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken coffee maker). The Mercatorum suite – which I’m pretty sure references the old merchant quarter – gives you enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s living room. Actually, the morning light coming through those windows overlooking the market square is something else entirely.
What really gets me is the location advantage you have here. Sure, you’ll hear some early morning market activity, but it dies down pretty quickly, and honestly? Waking up to the sounds of actual Italian life instead of traffic is worth it. You’re close enough to walk to Juliet’s balcony if that’s your thing (though locals will roll their eyes), but more importantly, you’re in the heart of where real Veronese people actually spend their time. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished without being sterile, comfortable without being luxury resort territory. That 8.8 rating makes sense to me too; I can see why people love this place, though I imagine some might find the morning bustle a bit much if they’re light sleepers. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no weird key card issues or confusing elevator systems. Just good, solid accommodation in a spot where you can grab fresh produce for breakfast, then wander over to the Roman amphitheater when you feel like playing tourist.

It was very pleasant and comfortable stay. Best location in charming old Verona. This is modern, freshly renovated apartment in historical building right on the central square. You can see Torre die Lamberti through the window.
Generous size modern kitchen, washing machine and dryer, temperature control in each room, excellent beds, lots of space. Highly recommended.Kenneth from United States – 23 October 2024 (9/10)
Very enjoyable stay, great location; no breakfast but did leave a bottle of wine to welcome us. Had a washing machine for travelers to use.

Central location, spacious apartment, well fitted out and that it had two bathrooms, which was perfect for two couples. You could have cooked anything in the kitchen if you wanted to do so and also had a washing machine / tumble dryer if needed.
What could be improved: Small issue – the bedrooms had control panels for the aircon, but didn't appear to be aircon in the bedrooms. The aircon in the hall was very good.Lorraine from United States – 28 May 2024 (9/10)

Communication was good
What could be improved: Didn’t really like the Vikey entry system, always a little worried our phones wouldn’t have enough battery or wifi to get inStephen from United Kingdom – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

Lots of room. Excellent location overlooking the market
What could be improved: Mobile phone entry was not easy to acquire through apps. They needed so much ID to be sent. Worse than customs.
