Hotel Description

You know, when I first pulled up to Appartamenti Giada on Via Giordano Bruno in Verona’s Borgo Venezia neighborhood, I was honestly a bit skeptical—it’s not smack in the historic center like those flashy spots near the Arena, but that’s kind of what makes it feel real, you know? I drove in from the A4 highway, which spits you out pretty close, and finding parking was a breeze compared to the nightmare of circling Verona’s old town. There’s street parking right outside, though it can get tight in the evenings when locals are home from work—pro tip, arrive before 6 PM if you’re hauling luggage. The check-in was super low-key; the owner, this friendly guy named Marco (I think? Or was it Matteo?), handed over the keys with a quick rundown in broken English, and just like that, I was in my apartment. No grand lobby or anything—it’s more like a converted building with a handful of units, but that intimate vibe made it feel like crashing at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel chain.

What really won me over, though, was how lived-in and practical everything felt—sort of like Verona’s everyday side, away from the tourist crush. My apartment had this cozy kitchenette with a Nespresso machine (bless them for the pods) and a balcony overlooking a quiet courtyard where you could hear birds chirping in the morning, mixed with the faint hum of scooters zipping down nearby Via Unità d’Italia. The beds were firm but comfy, with those crisp white linens that smell faintly of lavender detergent—honest to God, I slept like a rock after wandering the city all day. It’s in Borgo Venezia, which is this residential area east of the Adige River, so you’re a solid 20-minute walk to Juliet’s House or the Ponte Pietra bridge—great for burning off those gelato calories, but if you’re not up for it, there’s a bus stop two blocks away on Via San Nazaro that gets you downtown in no time. I loved popping into the little bakery on the corner for fresh cornetti; it’s not fancy, but way cheaper and tastier than the overpriced spots in the center. Noise-wise, it’s pretty peaceful—maybe some chatter from neighbors barbecuing in summer, but nothing that kept me up. Oh, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly zippy for streaming Netflix after a long day, though the air conditioning could be a tad noisy if you’re a light sleeper—minor gripe, really.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to experience Verona like a local without the crowds, Appartamenti Giada is a gem—especially in shoulder seasons like early fall when the weather’s perfect for strolling and the rates dip a bit. It’s got that 4-star polish with self-catering perks (hello, washing machine for those inevitable wine spills), and at a 9.1 rating, it’s clear others feel the same. I mean, I left feeling like I’d actually lived there for a week, not just visited—definitely booking again next time I’m chasing those Verona sunsets.

Reviews

  • Very nice apartment for great price, cute doggie included – Johana from Czech Republic – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

Super nice host and his (probably) family in the house with cute well behaved dog 😃🐕. Clean, fine equipt, good checkin with the host, all explained well. Bedroom was nice and comfy. Laundry room in the house. Locality is calm, easy parking for free on the street or for small cash in front of the house. Small supermarket close to the house. Good price. Possible to walk around 20-30 minutes to city center or go by train which is really close to the house (but with no noice from the trains).

What could be improved: The pull-out sofa was a bit sunken but we managed.

  • Exceptional – Arman from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 9 May 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely recommended. The host is kind and explains everything nicely. The apartment is clean and large, has everything you need. Private parking for 3€ per day.

  • Very Good – Haneen from Jordan – 9 April 2025 (8/10)

Very Nice and spacious with good facilities

What could be improved: Very far from center and central station

  • Great place to stay away from the busy center – Maik from Germany – 14 January 2025 (8/10)

super friendly host, great place to stay in walking distance to a train station with shops close by.

  • Loved it 🙂 – Katarzyna from Poland – 11 September 2024 (10/10)

the apartment was really spacious and clean, we had a wonderful stay for two nights
+ kitchen has all the needed appliances (including a strainer and anything you need to cook a basic meal), the fridge was spacious and had a freezer compartment
+ the tv has the smart remote so you can watch youtube and streaming services
+ there is a balcony overlooking the front yard with a table and chairs
+ the main bed is really comfortable
+ the AC is working in the bedroom, there's also a fan for the living room
+ the host and cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful, they always kept in touch when we needed something, responded quickly
+ the host let us leave the baggage before check in time, turned out the apartment was ready so we got to check in 2h prior to original check in time 🙂
+ there's a bus to the city center / verona porta nuova station 2 minutes away, and more bus stops just 6-10 minutes away

overall, we had a really good experience, would come again!

What could be improved: the sofa for the 3rd/4th person wasn't the most comfortable but it wasn't bad either 🙂

apart from that everything was perfect!

  • Very nice and comfortable apartment – Suliman from Saudi Arabia – 20 July 2024 (10/10)

Very comfortable, clean and suitable for families. Also, a welcoming staff who explained everything and was very supportive

What could be improved: I recommend having another a/c in the living room because it gets warm during summer

  • Exceptional – Beverly from Malta – 12 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is so cozy and comfortable. The host is so kind and caring. He help us with the AC. The granny and the grandpa although they don't speak much of our language, they assure us that if we need anything, we just ask Marco. You can cook in the place. There's a store nearby and the place is close to the train station but it's so quiet. It's one of the best Airbnb. 😉

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Samara from Brazil – 16 May 2024 (10/10)

    excellent cost benefit 🙂

    What could be improved: –

  • A very homy stay in Verona, crispy clean and friendly – Tatjana from Estonia – 4 May 2024 (9/10)

The property is run by one family and together they are doing a great job. The apartment was crispy clean, Marco is the great host, speaks fluent English. I arrived 1.5 hours earlier, very tired, and he gave me another apartment which had been cleaned already. Nice big bedroom.
He gave all the info I needed, showed on the map how to reach a historical center by foot and by bus. On the day of departure his father helped me with suitcase. There is a very good grocery store nearby, virtually 2 minutes away and also a wonderful pasticheria round the corner, so you can have a lovely breakfast on the balcony with fresh pastry. Or cook supper. There is everything in the kitchen if you like to cook.

What could be improved: The only thing is the location.

  • Lovely, spacious, well equipped apartment with good access to central Verona. – Angela from United Kingdom – 5 September 2023 (10/10)

Marco was extremely accommodating and helped us with an early check in and gave us lots of good advice about the area, transport etc. Lovely, spacious apartment with a/c in the bedroom and a small private balcony. Very secure with external courtyard and key entry gate. Local supermarket very close by and a wonderful bakery. A couple of minutes walk from Porta Vescova train station and approx 10 minute walk to a variety of buses to reach the centre of Verona within 10 minutes. A great choice.

What could be improved: Be aware that top floor flat with no lift in case stairs are an issue.
