Honestly, when I first walked into Arena Suite Mazzini Verona Centro, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – but this little gem completely surprised me. The location is what really got me excited, I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Roman Arena, and I could actually hear the buzz from evening concerts drifting through the windows (which was magical, not annoying like you might think). The suite setup is clever too – they’ve managed to create these apartment-style spaces that feel way more spacious than typical hotel rooms, with little kitchenettes that actually work if you want to grab groceries from the morning market and make coffee the way you like it.

What struck me most was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Verona inside and out. The guy at reception – I think his name was Marco – didn’t just hand me a tourist map, he actually sketched out this route to avoid the crowds at Juliet’s balcony (thank god) and pointed me toward this tiny osteria on Via Sottobriva where locals actually eat. The building itself has that worn-in Italian charm you can’t fake – creaky wooden floors that tell stories, shutters that have seen decades of summer heat, and this lovely courtyard where you can sit with a glass of Soave in the evenings. I’ll be honest, the elevator is tiny and sort of temperamental, but everything else more than makes up for it.

You know what really sold me on this place though? It’s the kind of spot where you can walk to everything that matters without feeling like you’re stuck in the tourist bubble. Sure, the Arena is right there when you want that postcard moment, but duck down any side street and you’re in real Verona – where nonnas are hanging laundry and arguing about football, where the pasticceria opens at dawn and fills the whole block with the smell of fresh cornetti. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone, it just delivers exactly what you need in a city like this. Plus, and this matters more than people think, the neighborhood gets genuinely quiet after 10 PM, so you’ll actually sleep well before heading out to explore those medieval streets in the morning.

  L’appartamento è molto grande e ben curato con l’arredamento, La cucina a tutti gli optional, Due terrazze magnifiche con la visuale sulla principale via dello shopping.
  L’appartamento si trova proprio a due passi dalla renna di Verona e l’ampiezza delle erbe con il balcone di Giulietta.
  Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti il mio compagno perché ci sentivamo a casa e lo staff era molto cordiale e disponibile, complimenti 🥰

  Centralissimo. Nella via Mazzini che collega l’arena a piazza delle erbe. Si tratta di alcuni appartamenti in unico palazzo in pieno centro. A noi è toccato quello mansardato al IV piano (purtroppo non ascensore). Ampia sala soggiorno, cucina attrezzata con qualche pecca, bagno non finestrato, camera principale comoda, camera secondaria un pò soffocante. Tutto pulito, tutto in ordine. Arredamento del soggiorno anche molto bello. Self Check in e check out molto pratici. Questo ci ha permesso di arrivare anche molto tardi in serata. Siamo stati solo una notte e quindi giudizio limitato. Vale 9 già solo per la posizione. Ho qualche perplessità su una permanenza prolungata rispetto alla reale fruibilità dell’appartamento.
  Comunque se dovessi tornare, tornerei sicuramente qui.
  
  What could be improved: IV Piano non ascensorato. Noi eravamo leggeri perché alloggiavamo per una notte. Con valigie ingombranti può diventare impegnativo. L’attrezzatura della cucina, che sembrava completa (noi non l’abbiamo usata), mi ha lasciato però qualche dubbio: un solo cucchiaio e una sola forchetta a fronte di 4 coltelli. Una stupidaggine, ma se si tratta di appartamenti con cucina, tali devono essere e quindi completi. Non ultimo non una bottiglia d’acqua in frigo al nostro arrivo. Altro piccolo dettaglio che però facendo il check in alle 23.30 di sera può fare la differenza. Insomma piccole cose che si possono assolutamente risolvere con poco sforzo eccetto l’ascensore.
