Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon the Arena Suite Mazzini Verona Centro 2 last summer during one of those sweltering July weekends when Verona’s opera season turns the whole centro storico into a buzzing hive – you know, with crowds spilling out from the Arena after Aida or whatever’s playing. It’s tucked right on Via Giuseppe Mazzini, that pedestrian shopping street lined with boutiques and gelaterias, just a stone’s throw from Piazza Bra. Honestly, finding parking was a nightmare – I mean, good luck squeezing into one of those tiny lots near the river Adige if you’re driving in; I ended up ditching the car at a garage on Via Roma and walking the last five minutes, dodging tourists with their maps out. But once I pushed through the unassuming door at number 33a (it’s on the first floor, so no grand lobby vibe), the check-in was a breeze – this friendly local guy named Marco sorted everything in broken English, handed over a keycard, and even pointed out a quiet spot for breakfast nearby. The place feels more like a chic apartment building than a stuffy hotel, with that faint scent of fresh espresso wafting up from the street below, and the walls echoing softly with the distant hum of scooters and chatter.
What really won me over, though, was how it nailed that balance between old Verona charm and modern comfort – we’re talking 4-star suites that aren’t over-the-top fancy but just right for crashing after a day wandering. My room had these tall windows overlooking Mazzini, framing views of people strolling by with shopping bags from places like the little artisanal chocolate shop next door (try the pistachio pralines if you’re there). The bed was plush, with crisp white linens that felt cool against the skin after the heat outside, and there’s a mini-kitchenette – super handy for brewing your own coffee or storing leftovers from a meal at that hidden osteria on Via Sottoriva, which is only a 10-minute walk away. Well, sort of hidden; locals know it for the best risotto all’amatriciana. Noise-wise, it gets lively in the evenings with the street performers and diners, but the double-glazed windows kept things surprisingly muffled – I slept like a log, except for that one early morning when the church bells from Santa Anastasia chimed at dawn (a Verona thing, you get used to it). Oh, and the bathroom? Spacious with rain showers that actually have decent pressure, unlike some spots I’ve stayed in Italy where it’s more of a trickle.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to dive headfirst into Verona’s heart without feeling like a total outsider, this place is a gem – especially off-season in spring when the crowds thin out and you can snag a balcony table at a cafe on Piazza delle Erbe without waiting. It’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi dipped a bit during peak hours, and there’s no on-site restaurant, so you’re out exploring anyway. But honestly, that’s part of the appeal – it forces you to mingle with the real city, from the ancient Ponte Pietra bridge at sunset to those impromptu gelato runs. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe even book a longer stay to catch more of the opera buzz. If Verona’s on your list, this spot makes the whole trip feel authentic, you know?

What could be improved: Everything was perfectVery nice – Alfonso from Italy – 11 May 2025 (10/10)
We stayed for one night only because we had a trip to make.
The apartment was very clean and modern we were very happy also because it had the terrace that overlooked the main shopping street of Verona via Mazzini
The apartment was very clean it was also very easy to enter because we had very clear information from the owner Milo.Too hot in summer, poor maintenance and low quality furnishing – Idonea from United States – 30 June 2025 (5/10)
Location
What could be improved: Main thing was the place was an oven. The AC was not up to the task of cooling it as there is no insulation. We baked. If you put all 3 units on the fuses blow. Satira to the roof Terrace are precarious. The fridge was stocked with beer no water. The plastic pierce that holds the shower head was loose so the shower hose had to be held. Sheets, pillows, and bed of very poor qualityDisappointing and unwelcoming – Ben from United Kingdom – 1 July 2025 (5/10)
Central Location: Conveniently situated in a central touristy area.
Good Value for Money: Affordable pricing for the size of the apartment.
Spacious Apartment: Ample space
What could be improved: – Host very unwelcoming and would only give check in instructions over the phone, which made it difficult to get in to the apartment
– The information is misleading about the hot tub, it says option to pay for it as extra, but we were told it is in another room. Host proceeded to argue with us about this and was very rude.
– Kitchen is very basic, hardly any amenities. Host doesn't want you using the kitchen?
– Power continually tripped out, couldn't cook with the aircon onExceptional – Roberto from Mexico – 15 June 2025 (10/10)
Excelente lugar, ubicación, trato, limpio todo. El dueño muy amable y dispuesto a apoyar. En el refrigerador diversas bebidas, con costo adicional, pero buenos precios. Sin duda volverla.
What could be improved: Quizás el subir y bajar maletas por escaleras.Posizione centralissima, appartamento molto pulito e molto accogliente – Milos from Italy – 15 May 2025 (10/10)

Consiglio vivamente e ci ritorneremo sicuramente
What could be improved: Assolutamente tutto perfettoBad – Daniyar from Kyrgyzstan – 3 July 2025 (1/10)
Я не имел возможности проживать в квартире
What could be improved:
