Attico di charme Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Attico di charme on Corso Porta Nuova, you immediately sense you’re in for something special. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Verona‘s historic center, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that understated Italian elegance — you know, the kind where the real beauty reveals itself slowly rather than shouting at you from the street.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in the Città Antica, which means everything worth seeing is within walking distance. I mean, you can stroll to Juliet’s balcony in about five minutes, and the Arena di Verona is practically around the corner. The street itself, Corso Porta Nuova, is one of those perfect Veronese thoroughfares where locals actually live and work alongside the tourist spots. You’ll find genuine cafés and shops mixed in with the more obvious attractions, which gives you a real taste of daily life in this medieval city.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this wonderful blend of historic charm and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find in Verona’s old town. The ceilings were high — typical for these old Italian buildings — and the windows opened onto views that reminded me why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. Actually, the whole setup feels more like staying in a stylish Italian friend’s apartment than a traditional hotel. The attention to detail is impressive without being fussy, and everything works properly, which isn’t always a given in historic properties.

Daily Life at the Hotel

What struck me most was how seamlessly the hotel fits into the neighborhood rhythm. Mornings here feel authentically Italian — you wake up to the sounds of the city coming alive, not the artificial quiet of some tourist bubble. The staff clearly knows the area well and can point you toward the kind of local spots that make a trip memorable. I appreciated that they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map but actually took time to understand what I was looking for.

Why Guests Love It

The location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely earned. You’re positioned perfectly to explore Verona on foot, whether you’re interested in Roman ruins, medieval architecture, or just finding a great aperitivo spot. Couples especially seem to connect with the romantic atmosphere here, and I can see why. There’s something about waking up in the historic center of one of Italy’s most beautiful cities that makes even a simple morning coffee feel special. The combination of authentic location, thoughtful design, and that particularly Italian approach to hospitality creates an experience that feels both sophisticated and genuinely welcoming.

  • Claudia from United States – 26 September 2024 (9/10)

Very clean perfect location 8 min walk from the train station and few blocks from to Arena

    What could be improved: Nothing

Good location. The apartment is nice.

What could be improved: The owner is willing to leave you sleeping on the street if you have the audacity to be check in after 19:00. Good luck if your flight has some delay or you are delayed by some reason. We had to beg her, sent multiple and multiple messages, but we never got a chance to please her to let us check in after 19:00. I had to cancel bus and train reservations, to hurry like crazy, just so we can be on time, otherwise, we sleep on the street with our suitcases. They have no keylock boxes (with pin codes, you know) outside, and probably never heard of such things. She ruined what was going to be a great vacation.
Also, there is a deposit of 150 Euro, in case of you brake anything, and it was not mentioned anywhere.
The apartment is ok, with good location, though. However, I would be crazy if I had to repeat my stay there. These people should not operate in the accommodation industry. She caused us a lot of stress and just because of what? She just repeated that they have a strict rule for not checking in after 19:00. Crazy!!!

  • Gianchan from Germany – 11 June 2024 (7/10)

  • Mary from United States – 6 May 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Breakfast items and no regular coffee offered. There was decaf, ginseng and teas.

  • Matteo from Italy – 11 December 2023 (9/10)

Personale gentile e disponibile. Posizione ottimale, vicino al centro della città.
Bellissimo terrazzino con vista sulla città

What could be improved: Colazione essenziale ma ci hanno procurato una macchinetta moka. Davvero gentili

We stayed in the apartment during the last week of July, when there was quite an extreme heat wave going on in Verona. The aparment is located close to the railway station and about 15 minute walk from the old town, which was perfect for us. If everything would’ve gone as planned, our stay would have probably been perfect, but this time there were just too many issues.

What could be improved: During our stay we faced a few issues.

    1. The AC in the bedroom did not work, so we were unable to sleep there. Instead we had to sleep in the sofa bed, which was far from comfortable and negatively affected our readiness for the few days we were in Italy. We understand that things may break down and it might take some time to fix them, but still, it was a huge annoyance.
    2. The apartment was not cleaned when we arrived. In the end, this did not really matter to us as we were about to head to the old town anyways. Apparently there was some miscommunication between the owner and the cleanup company and they thought the guests were going to change the next day. The cleaning was done while we were away, so no points really lost there. Had we arrived late in the evening, this would have been quite a serious issue.
    3. There were no trash bags in the apartment (after cleanup) so we went and bought a roll ourselves
    4. The apartment had no shower gel or shampoo, so prepare to get some.
    5. Elevator only worked when we arrived. After that it was walking up and down 5 floors. We’re athletic, so did not really bother us and was in no way the fault of the aparment owner.
