B&B Accademia Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to B&B Accademia, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this little three-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t scream for attention end up being exactly what you didn’t know you needed. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about this place that actually grew on me pretty quickly.

The thing about staying here is that it feels like you’re getting an authentic slice of local life rather than some polished hotel experience. The owners – and I mean this in the best way – treat you like you’re a friend of a friend who’s crashing for a few days. They’ll chat with you about the neighborhood, point you toward the spots that aren’t crawling with tourists, and honestly seem to care whether you’re having a decent time. I stayed here during what I’d guess was a pretty busy period, and even then, breakfast felt unhurried. They serve it in this cozy room where you can actually hear yourself think, which is rarer than it should be these days.

What really struck me was how the place manages to feel both lived-in and well-maintained. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, we’re talking about a B&B here, not some sprawling resort – but everything works properly, the bed was actually comfortable (which, let’s face it, can be hit-or-miss at smaller places), and there’s this attention to small details that you notice after a day or two. Fresh towels appeared without me having to hunt anyone down, the Wi-Fi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and the shower had proper water pressure. Look, these might sound like basic expectations, but I’ve stayed at plenty of higher-rated places where these simple things somehow became complicated.

The location is one of those situations where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I could walk to most of the places I wanted to see – though honestly, I ended up enjoying just wandering the surrounding streets almost as much as hitting the major sights. There’s a little café about two blocks away that serves ridiculously good coffee (the owners will tell you about it if you ask), and the whole area has this lived-in neighborhood feel that makes you understand why people actually choose to live in the city rather than just visit it.

What really sealed the deal for me was realizing that this place has earned its 8.8 rating not by trying to be something it’s not, but by doing the fundamentals really well. It’s clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and run by people who seem to genuinely enjoy what they’re doing. If you’re looking for marble lobbies and room service, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a place where you can recharge between adventures, where the people remember your name after one day, and where you feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than being insulated from it – well, you could do a lot worse than B&B Accademia.

Reviews of B&B Accademia

  • Clara from Hong Kong – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

Clean and comfortable room. Great location for sightseeing. Very good breakfast provided in a nice setting. Victoria puts in a lot of effort to set up this pleasant parlour with her potted plants and flowers.

Well equiped room in a citycenter location. Supercomfortable bed. Friendly host, tasty breakfast, grocery store in front of the building. Everything was 100% clean. Overall one of the best B&B's I've ever been to. Absolutely recomended! Itis worth the money!

  • Valerie from United Kingdom – 23 October 2024 (9/10)

The location is fantastic, the Roman Arena was only a few minutes walk away. Room nice, little terrace outside with a table and chairs. Very clean with toiletries provided. Free range of teas and coffee. Breakfast basic but ok. Great value for money.

What could be improved: It’s a noisy street but that’s to be expected right in the centre.

  • Daniel from Italy – 20 October 2024 (9/10)

A spacious room with balcony and a view!

  • Pam from New Zealand – 6 September 2024 (9/10)

Lovely selection of breakfast and very close to the arena and other sights

  • Lorna from South Africa – 11 August 2024 (9/10)

Vadis was helpful and gave good recommendations on the area. The room was spacious and really comfortable.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Manuel from Austria – 10 August 2024 (8/10)

The room was clean room, the bathroom had all the amenities, and the air conditioning was good. The room also had a nice balcony and a fridge with a freezer compartment. The staff was very friendly as well.

What could be improved: The AC was not controllable (personally didn't mind, it was set just right). There is no reception, it's basically a big flat turned into multiple apartments. (But the owner explained how to do the self-checkin well and was present during breakfast.)

  • Meri from Finland – 7 August 2024 (9/10)

Very clean and at amazing location!

What could be improved: Only minus was that in our room weren’t curtains which would block the view to the breakfast room but other wise totally perfect!
