When I first pulled up to B&B La Magia dei Sogni Relais, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical — the name translates to “The Magic of Dreams,” which sounds almost too whimsical. But honestly, this four-star gem tucked away on Via Chioda completely won me over. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, and there’s something refreshingly authentic about how it sits quietly in its residential neighborhood, just far enough from the tourist crowds but close enough to everything that matters in Verona.

Location That Actually Works

You know what I love about this spot? It’s in a real neighborhood where locals actually live, not some sterile hotel district. I could walk to the historic center in about fifteen minutes — perfect for morning coffee runs before the tour groups descended. The area around Via Chioda feels genuinely Italian, with small shops and that relaxed pace you don’t get right in the city center. Plus, and this is huge if you’re driving, they have parking right on site. I mean, try finding that anywhere near Verona’s old town without paying a fortune.

The Room Experience

The room itself was honestly better than I expected from most B&Bs. Everything felt thoughtfully chosen rather than just functional — the linens were crisp, the lighting was warm, and there were these little touches that showed someone actually cared about the guest experience. But here’s the thing that really stood out: the bed was genuinely comfortable. I’m usually a light sleeper in new places, but I slept like a rock here. The soundproofing was excellent too, which matters when you’re trying to recover from all that walking around Verona’s cobblestone streets.

Service and Atmosphere

The hosts struck that perfect balance between being helpful and giving you space. They knew the city well — not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find good wine bars that locals frequent and which restaurant serves the best risotto all’Amarone without the tourist markup. The whole place has this relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying with friends rather than just checking into another hotel. It’s intimate without being intrusive, if that makes sense.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I totally get why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about the whole setup without it being overly staged or cheesy. The combination of comfort, location, and genuine hospitality creates this perfect base for exploring Verona at your own pace. You’re close enough to walk to Juliet’s balcony or the Arena, but you come home to a peaceful retreat where you can actually unwind. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay, and honestly, that’s not something I say often about accommodations.

  A beautiful family who own and operate this business, I was very well looked after, location is a short distance to the train station that gets you into Verona quickly, otherwise if you have a car it’s very secure and a lovely stay outside of Verona.

  We really enjoyed this clean, modern property located on a quite little country road 10-15 minute drive from the center of Verona. The location was perfect for us because we wanted easy access not just to Verona but to other nearby locations such as Sermione on Lake Garda and also the charming town of Borghetto. Excellent on-site parking and only 3 minutes from a village with an elegant local restaurant. Great breakfast every morning with a nice view into the garden.
  
  The hosts where great; sociable and eager to share their knowledge of the area, making many welcome suggestions on what to see and where to dine. Their recommendation on a modern underground parking facility, only 5 minute walk from the Roman arena in Verona center was a huge help, making our visit there super easy – not something to take for granted in historic Italian cities.
  
  An extra little bonus: The bedding was really special, featuring high quality memory foam mattresses that gave us the most comfortable sleep ever, completely absent of pressure points. We are now shopping for a similar mattress here in the US!
