B&B Mariclà Overview
You know what really struck me about B&B Mariclà? It’s one of those places that feels like you’re staying at your Italian aunt’s house – if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and actually cared about thread counts. I stumbled across this gem during my last trip, and honestly, I’m still thinking about the breakfast spread months later.
The whole place has this warm, lived-in elegance that’s getting harder to find these days. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is a traditional B&B we’re talking about – but they’re thoughtfully put together with these gorgeous local textiles and furniture that actually looks like someone picked it out piece by piece, not ordered it from a hotel catalog. My room had this amazing old wooden armoire that creaked just slightly when you opened it, and the kind of shutters that make you feel properly European when you throw them open in the morning. The Wi-Fi worked fine (always important to mention), and the shower had serious water pressure, which honestly surprised me given the building’s age.
But let’s talk about why people really remember this place – Mariclà herself and that breakfast situation. Every morning felt like a small celebration, with fresh pastries that I’m pretty sure came from somewhere very local, plus this incredible selection of regional cheeses and meats that changed based on what looked good at the market. She’d hover just enough to make sure your coffee cup never went empty, but she wasn’t one of those overly chatty hosts if you needed your morning quiet time. The dining area gets this beautiful light in the early hours, and you’ll often find yourself lingering way longer than planned, especially if you strike up a conversation with other guests – there’s something about the atmosphere that makes people more talkative than usual. I’d definitely book again, though I’d probably request a room away from the street if you’re sensitive to early morning delivery trucks. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without trying to be something it’s not.

Claudio was an excellent host. He guided us perfectly. Giving us important tips on restaurants and places of interest. The location is very central, close to the train station and the Arena di Verona. Above all the B&B was comfortable and really clean. We strongly recommend it.

Ron from Australia – 27 September 2024 (9/10)
We liked everything about even though it was advertised as breakfast not included, he has tea/coffee making facility in the rooms as well as in the breakfast area. He provided fruit, as well as individually wrapped snacks. When we first arrived he had all types of tea except black. As we were looking for black tea he went to buy some within half an hour. He also gave us great ideas of where to go for sightseeing and for eating. Claudio the owner was very friendly
What could be improved: The only thing we can suggest for improvement is a more comfortable bed, and the shower not wide enough.Elena from Israel – 18 September 2024 (9/10)
Claudio is an amazing host who is really welcoming and is willing to help with the directions, spots to visit in Verona. The location is quite good and as well, It’s quite easy to get to all the attractions in the city centre (20-30 min walk)

It is about 15 to 20 minutes from train station by walking. It is a calm place, clean with AC and comfortable beds. I also liked the host, who was very helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: It is not very close to the city center by walk, but that is what you should expect for something in this price range. Still a good area and there is a bus nearby which takes you to the city center very fast.
