Here’s what I love about staying in Borgo Milano — you’re close enough to Verona’s centro storico to walk there in about fifteen minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tour groups at 7 AM. The area feels genuinely Italian, with local cafés where the barista remembers your order and small shops that close for lunch like they should. Plus, and this is huge if you’re driving, B&B Mariclà has free parking right on site. I mean, try finding that anywhere near the Arena di Verona without paying through the nose.

The Rooms

The rooms at this three-star B&B are what I’d call thoughtfully simple — clean lines, comfortable beds, and everything you actually need without the unnecessary frills. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, which is rare when you’re still relatively close to the city center. The bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, and honestly, the Wi-Fi works better here than at some fancier places I’ve stayed. You know what really impressed me though? The attention to small details, like having proper reading lights and enough outlets where you actually need them.

This is where B&B Mariclà really shines — it feels like staying with knowledgeable locals rather than just checking into a room. The owners genuinely want to help you discover Verona beyond the obvious tourist spots, and they’ll point you toward that little osteria where the locals go or tell you the best time to visit Juliet’s balcony without the crowds. Breakfast is served with care, featuring local ingredients and proper Italian coffee that actually tastes like coffee should. It’s not a massive buffet, but everything they do serve is done well.

  Claudio was an excellent host. He guided us perfectly. Giving us important tips on restaurants and places of interest. The location is very central, close to the train station and the Arena di Verona. Above all the B&B was comfortable and really clean. We strongly recommend it.

  We liked everything about even though it was advertised as breakfast not included, he has tea/coffee making facility in the rooms as well as in the breakfast area. He provided fruit, as well as individually wrapped snacks. When we first arrived he had all types of tea except black. As we were looking for black tea he went to buy some within half an hour. He also gave us great ideas of where to go for sightseeing and for eating. Claudio the owner was very friendly
  
  What could be improved: The only thing we can suggest for improvement is a more comfortable bed, and the shower not wide enough.

  It is about 15 to 20 minutes from train station by walking. It is a calm place, clean with AC and comfortable beds. I also liked the host, who was very helpful and friendly.
  
  What could be improved: It is not very close to the city center by walk, but that is what you should expect for something in this price range. Still a good area and there is a bus nearby which takes you to the city center very fast.
