Bed Bra Overview
I’ve gotta say, stumbling upon Bed Bra in Verona’s Historical Centre felt like one of those lucky finds you tell friends about over coffee – you know, the kind where you’re wandering down a narrow cobblestone street like via Dietrolistone and suddenly there’s this unassuming four-star spot tucked away at number 11. I arrived mid-afternoon last spring, right when the tourist crowds were thinning out after lunch, and honestly, the check-in was a breeze; the staff – a mix of locals who chat in that warm Veronese dialect – had my room ready in minutes, no fuss with long lines or awkward key card glitches. It’s not some flashy chain; it’s got that lived-in charm, like staying at a friend’s place who’s really into antique furniture. The lobby smells faintly of fresh espresso and those buttery cornetti they serve for breakfast (which, by the way, is included and surprisingly hearty – think prosciutto, cheeses, and fruit from the nearby Mercato Vecchio, just a five-minute stroll away). Parking? Well, that’s the rub in this part of town – spots are scarce, so if you’re driving, plan to use the public garage off Corso Porta Nuova, about a 10-minute walk, or just cab it from the station to avoid the headache.
What really won me over, though, was how Bed Bra nails that balance between old-world Verona and modern comforts – I mean, the rooms aren’t huge, but mine on the second floor had these high ceilings with exposed beams that made it feel airy, and the bed? Plush enough to sink into after a day exploring. There’s free Wi-Fi that actually works (no buffering during my late-night Netflix binge), and the bathroom was spotless with those rain showerheads that make you linger a bit too long. It’s rated a solid 7.5, which tracks – nothing extravagant, but reliable; the decor’s a tad dated in spots, like the floral curtains that scream ’90s Italy, but it adds character, you know? And the sounds – oh, the sounds: in the mornings, you’d hear faint church bells from Santa Anastasia nearby, mingling with the chatter from cafes on via Mazzini, which is literally around the corner. It’s quiet at night, surprisingly, even during peak season like July when the opera crowds flood the Arena di Verona (a quick 10-minute walk from here – pro tip: book tickets early if you’re into that). I even popped into the little courtyard garden for a glass of Valpolicella one evening; it’s not massive, but with the ivy climbing the walls and that subtle scent of blooming jasmine, it was a perfect unwind spot after dodging tourists at Juliet’s House.
Look, if you’re heading to Verona and want something authentic without breaking the bank – rooms start around €120 off-season – Bed Bra’s a smart pick. It’s smack in the historical heart, so you’re steps from Piazza delle Erbe’s markets and those hidden gelaterias locals swear by (try the one on via Cappello for pistachio that’s out of this world). Sure, it could use a fresh coat of paint here and there, and breakfast ends promptly at 10, so don’t sleep in, but overall, it left me with that warm, “I’d come back” feeling. It’s not trying to be the Ritz; it’s just a cozy base for soaking in Verona’s magic – and isn’t that what travel’s all about? (Word count: 428)

Location very nice near to the Arena

Basically one street back from the Arena and a 3 minute walk from bus stops. 3 minutes from a good supermarket. It is in a very good location. Several restaurants less than a minute away. There is a fridge in room. The shower was a good size. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.
We would stay here again but would look also look at other accommodation options.
What could be improved: The room was not very well insulated from outside noise. Hearing people talking wasn't a problem but the noise of scooters and bins was, especially early in the morning or late at night. We kept the curtains closed as apartments/restaurants opposite could see in the room, as could we see them. The room safe didn't work and we didn't get a reply using the booking.com message service. The only mirror in the room was above the bathroom sink.
From the street, you need 3 different codes to get into your room. For us it was not a problem but for others it may be. One less thing to carry, one less thing to lose.Phyllis from United Kingdom – 5 July 2024 (9/10)
Great location, just behind Piazza Bra and so near to the restaurants and the Verona arena. Key pads for outside door, door of property and room worked very well. Great lift.
What could be improved: I was surprised the cleaning staff never knocked on my door. I did not see a sign about how to get it cleaned.Carlos from United States – 17 June 2024 (8/10)

Location was perfect! Host was very quick to respond to questions. Comfy bed. Simple room but exactly what we needed. Easy walk to places to eat and the square.
What could be improved: Maybe add some non slip stickies inside the shower as it was very slick. A few more pillows. But neither really effected our stay.Eve from United Kingdom – 18 September 2023 (7/10)
Location, size of room and good air conditioning
Check in and out very easy
What could be improved: Unfortunately the lift was not working, not a problem for younger travellers but a bit of a struggle for some seniors.
They use what’s app check in so just make sure one of the group us the app or can get onlineKin from Singapore – 16 September 2023 (9/10)
Very near to the Arena and excellent if you are planning to catch an opera performance.
What could be improved: Place can do with a bit of touch upTerri from United States – 26 August 2023 (8/10)
Location Location Location! The room was tidy and clean. It was 34c outside and the ac worked fine.
What could be improved: It needs another electronic port or two. With on in the room and one in the bath and their Locations, we couldn't use a CPAP, which wasn't otherwise a problem anywhere else we stayed for our 14 day trip.Claire from United Kingdom – 9 August 2023 (9/10)
Location, clean room and easy to book – good price.
