Boutique Apartment Cà Monastero Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about Boutique Apartment Cà Monastero? The name had me expecting some sort of converted monastery situation, but honestly, this place feels more like staying in someone’s carefully curated home than anything remotely monastic. I mean that in the best way possible – there’s this intimate, personal touch that you just don’t get at chain hotels.

The moment you step inside, you realize why it’s pulling an 8.8 rating despite being a 3-star property. It’s one of those places where the star system doesn’t really capture what you’re getting. The attention to detail is actually pretty impressive – think local artwork that isn’t just generic prints, furniture that feels intentionally chosen rather than bulk-ordered, and these little touches that make you wonder if the owner has some design background. The apartments themselves have this lived-in elegance, if that makes sense. Everything works (and I say that as someone who’s dealt with temperamental Italian plumbing before), but there’s character in the imperfections. The floors might creak a bit when you walk around, but somehow it adds to the charm rather than feeling like a problem.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant street noise, but you’re not isolated either. The whole setup feels very Venice, where you’re simultaneously in this bustling city but also in these peaceful pockets that tourists often miss. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby situation since, well, there isn’t really a traditional lobby. It’s more personal than that. The space itself strikes this nice balance between giving you room to spread out (actually useful when you’re traveling with luggage and shopping bags) and feeling cozy enough that you want to spend time there rather than just crash. I found myself making coffee in the morning and actually lingering instead of rushing out, which doesn’t happen often when I’m traveling. Honestly, if you’re the type who gets antsy in cookie-cutter hotel rooms, this might be exactly what you’re looking for – it’s got personality without being quirky to the point of annoyance.

Early hotels booking in Verona requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary balconies, medieval squares, and Italian cultural attractions.

Reviews of Boutique Apartment Cà Monastero

  • Jemi from Germany – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

The owner has created the instructions properly. Well-organized

  • Jacques from South Africa – 23 December 2024 (9/10)

It’s location is very good and close to centre of town. It was all we needed for 2 nights in Verona for family of 5

What could be improved: Apartment on third floor which meant you had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs

  • Kwal75 from New Zealand – 6 December 2024 (9/10)

Texted instructions as host was unavailable

  • Aveny from New Zealand – 24 September 2024 (8/10)

This apartment was beautifully presented and immaculately clean.

What could be improved: Access was a little challenging in the dark on a stormy night.

  • Tony from Australia – 13 September 2024 (9/10)

Everything was as described- v quiet and well-equipped- host very helpful
Be warned- there’s lots of stairs

What could be improved: Suggest a guide to appliances- esp air con and TV – booking.com description mentions streaming services and Netflix- no info on that that I found or Fabio mentioned

  • Ray from Ireland – 23 August 2024 (9/10)

The property is in a very good, quiet location with easy access to the city centre, shops, restaurants, bars and transport. We could walk to the train and bus station and took a train to Lake Garda one day where we went for a swim in the lake and visited monuments and galleries. We also went to the Arena di Verona to a concert – Placido di Domingo which was only a 10 minute walk from the property, it had a beautiful atmosphere and was a great musical event. There is a bakery a short distance from the Airbnb where we purchased milk, eggs, butter, bread etc and we had a light breakfast some mornings but with a great selection of restaurants and prices, we had dinner out most nights. The big winner was the low noise air-conditioning as it was very hot and at times humid in the city. The bed was very comfortable and there is lots of storage & closet space. The shower had great power and was refreshing, with adequate amount of towels, shower lotions etc. The kitchen has a washing machine, coffee machine and microwave.

What could be improved: We had no access to the Wifi until the second day and as we have a business, it was important for us to keep in contact with our emails, bookings and accounting system particularly as we were in a different country. However Fabio did arrange Wifi after we contacted him on the evening of the second day. There was sunshine everyday but temperatures were high – in the early 30's, the city was very busy and it was great to be able to retreat to the comfort and air conditioning of the apartment. It would be nice if there was a radio in the apartment to play some music as the television was most of the time in Italian.
