Ca’ Vendramin – Letters To Juliet Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Ca’ Vendramin – Letters To Juliet feels like stepping into someone’s beautifully restored Venetian palazzo — which, honestly, isn’t far from the truth. The name gives it away, but this four-star boutique hotel in Verona has that romantic, literary charm that makes you feel like you’re part of some Italian love story. The entrance on Via Dietro Filippini is understated, but once you’re inside, the restored period details and intimate atmosphere immediately set it apart from the typical chain hotels.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this place? It’s tucked right in the Città Antica, which means you’re literally in the heart of medieval Verona. I mean, you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes — no exaggeration. The Piazza delle Erbe is practically around the corner, and the Arena di Verona is maybe a five-minute stroll. What I love is that despite being so central, Via Dietro Filippini itself is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.6, and I totally understand why.

The Room Experience

The rooms here have this perfect balance of historic character and modern comfort that’s actually hard to pull off. Each room feels different — some have exposed beams, others feature original frescoed ceilings, but all maintain that intimate, romantic vibe the hotel is going for. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for a historic building (trust me, that’s not always a given in Verona’s old center), and the beds are genuinely comfortable. What struck me most was the attention to detail — quality linens, thoughtful lighting, and windows that actually open to let in that Italian evening breeze.

Dining & Amenities

While Ca’ Vendramin doesn’t have its own restaurant, this is actually one of those cases where it works in your favor. Being in the heart of Verona means you’re surrounded by incredible dining options — from traditional osterias to modern wine bars. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out and will point you toward places that locals actually frequent, not just tourist traps. There’s a lovely breakfast setup each morning with quality Italian coffee and pastries, plus they’re happy to arrange wine tastings or provide recommendations for exploring the Valpolicella region if you’re into that sort of thing.

Why Guests Love It

Honestly, it comes down to the combination of location, character, and that personal touch you get at smaller properties. The 9.3 rating reflects what you experience here — it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well. The romance factor is real without being cheesy, the historic setting feels authentic rather than manufactured, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore Verona on foot. For couples especially, there’s something about staying in a place that feels like a secret hideaway while being steps from everything you came to see. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you want to plan your next trip to Verona before you’ve even checked out.

Early hotels booking in Verona requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary balconies, medieval squares, and Italian cultural attractions.

Reviews of Ca’ Vendramin – Letters To Juliet

Wonderful! Easy walking location to everything

  • Barby from United States – 14 October 2024 (10/10)

I like the location and the security of the property. It was in a central location and it was very easy to navigate through the area. The villa was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and clean. I loved the natural light coming through in the morning. The sky view was beautiful.

What could be improved: I wish there were instructions for people who chose to drive. There’s a parking zone not too far from the property (zone 545) which is a perfect place to park. You can use any of the parking apps online and pay for parking or if you already have the paid parking it would’ve been nice to know.

  • Marie from United Kingdom – 11 October 2024 (8/10)

A beautiful apartment in a brilliant location, comfortable bed and well equipped

What could be improved: The sofa was very uncomfortable, definitely needs updating

  • Thamen from Ireland – 18 September 2024 (9/10)

The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Loved the balcony. The location was amazing. Very easy to find and the instructions to check in were easy to follow. Highly recommend this apartment. Bed was very comfy. There was a map of all the attractions available in the apartment. The kitchen was fully equipped. It was located on a quite street.

What could be improved: The sofa bed was very noisy and the room wasn't soundproof, you could hear everything from upstairs.

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 24 August 2024 (9/10)

Property had Italian charm and was not just a room that could have been in any country. Communication and instructions were clear and helpful. Property had everything needed to make my stay comfortable- air con, generous amount of coffee pods, hairdryer, TV(not that I watched it). Location was close to where you wanted to be.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Rachel from Spain – 21 August 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful apartment full of character and only a 5 minute walk from Casa di giulietta and 10 minute walk from the Arena.

What could be improved: There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property. The only thing that stopped it from being perfect was that there was no ironing board but that is just a small detail. All in all, the apartment was wonderful. I’d definitely stay there again if I return to Verona.

  • Simon from United Kingdom – 19 August 2024 (10/10)

Communications about the rental were great, the flat is in a quiet area yet central for sights and shopping, it is well appointed, and was very comfortable. Exactly as described but better.

What could be improved: Can't think of anything. It was all good.

  • Charlotte from United Kingdom – 1 August 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful quaint quirky little original style central Verona apartment.
We loved the style and features.
Fantastic location as so walkable to all main historical centre areas we wanted to visit.
    Friendly helpful hosts too.
Fabulous little balcony to sit out on too.

What could be improved: No issues at all.

  • Kristina from Netherlands – 9 June 2024 (9/10)

The location was outstanding, in a quiet residential neighborhood in the beautiful old city. The apartment was well-maintained with an equipped kitchen and a lovely balcony on which to enjoy morning espresso in the lemony Italian sun.

  • Raphaela from Germany – 11 May 2024 (10/10)

The Apartment not only looks exactly as beautiful as in the pictures but is even more special once you step onto the beautiful little balcony. Perfectly equipped, in the best possible location you could stay. Cherry on top is the friendliness and Italian hospitality of Tommaso and his dad. Picking us up from the parking, sharing places to eat and sights and always being responsive within seconds. Although only for two nights, this accommodation has been my favourite in Italy so far.
