Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Carega City Center Apartment, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. It’s one of those places that sits right in that sweet spot between a proper hotel and a full apartment rental, and honestly? That turned out to be exactly what made it work so well for my stay.

The thing is, you’re basically getting your own little slice of the city without all the stuffiness of a traditional hotel. I mean, there’s something refreshing about having a proper kitchen where you can actually make coffee the way you like it (instead of wrestling with those tiny hotel room machines that never seem to work right). The apartment I stayed in had this lived-in feeling – not worn down, just… comfortable, you know? Like someone actually thought about how people live day-to-day instead of just passing through. The furniture wasn’t trying too hard to be trendy, which I appreciated, and there was enough space to spread out my stuff without feeling like I was living out of a suitcase.

What really sold me on the place was how it sits right in the middle of everything without the chaos you’d expect. You can walk pretty much anywhere you need to go, but when you come back at night, it’s actually quiet enough to sleep properly. I stayed there during what I’d guess was a fairly busy time of year, and even then, the noise level was totally manageable. The check-in process was surprisingly smooth too – none of that awkward fumbling around looking for a key lockbox or waiting around for someone to show up. Actually, the whole setup felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than dealing with typical hotel bureaucracy. Sure, it’s got that 3-star rating and the 7.7 score tells you it’s solid but not fancy, and that’s pretty much spot-on. You’re not getting marble bathrooms or turndown service, but you’re also not paying for stuff you probably don’t need anyway. What you do get is a genuinely comfortable base for exploring, with enough personality to feel like you’re staying somewhere that actually belongs in the neighborhood rather than some generic chain property that could be anywhere.

  What could be improved: There is no direct light from outside and is impossible to open the curtains….
  And as every center located apartment… as old as they are.. you can hear everything from outside…

  What could be improved: Difficult to communicate with the landlord then incomplete access instructions given, we finally worked out that whilst the address on the website says 9A but we were actually booked into 9 and the door code worked then.
  Really noisy with an Osteria directly across the tiny lane with outdoor tables
  Very bright street light directly outside the high windows – which shine straight into the bed which is on the mezzanine so a very bright night!
  We understand that this is an apartment right in Citta Antica so would be in a busy area but…. some attempt to at least sound and lightproof the room would be grand!
  Bathroom door did not close without a dreadfully loud screeching sound – bottom of the door needs shaving off

  What could be improved: The Host was not there when wenn did arrive at the previous informed time. But wanted to get transfered a photo of our ID Cards. Due to frequent missuse I did reject that. It would be good to clarify this before and not when we are at the flat.

  What could be improved: We only received the instructions after calling booking. The host was ignoring our calls or messages until booking contacted him.
  The place had the bare minimum facilities, it did not feel clean or secure as the lock was not working properly (only a one key turn and could not turn further the lock to close the door as it was meant too)
  We could hear the neighbours and people talking far I. The street.
