Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Casa all’Università di Verona on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets get all glossy and the air smells like wet stone mixed with espresso from the corner cafés. It’s tucked away on Via Campofiore, right in the university district, which honestly feels like a smart, low-key spot if you’re not into the tourist crush around the Arena. I mean, it’s just a 15-minute stroll over the Adige River to get to Ponte Pietra and the old town vibes, but without the constant buzz of tour groups. Parking was a bit of a hassle – street spots are tight, especially when students are milling about during term time – but they sorted me out with a permit for a nearby lot, which saved me from circling forever. Check-in was straightforward; the host, this friendly local guy named Marco, handed over the keys with a quick rundown of the neighborhood, like where to grab the best gelato on Via Cappello (spoiler: it’s not the tourist traps). The building itself has that classic Veronese charm – think faded terracotta walls and wrought-iron balconies – but inside, it’s more modern apartment-style, which suited me perfectly since I was traveling solo and wanted space to spread out.
What really won me over were the little details that make you feel like you’re actually living in Verona, not just passing through. My apartment had this cozy kitchenette with a proper espresso machine – none of that pod nonsense – and I whipped up breakfast from stuff I picked up at the market on Via XX Settembre, just a few blocks away. The bed was comfy, with those crisp linens that smell faintly of lavender (or maybe that’s just the Italian air), and the bathroom had a rain shower that was a godsend after hiking up to Castel San Pietro for those panoramic views. It’s not perfect, though – the Wi-Fi can get spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, and if you’re a light sleeper, you might hear the occasional scooter zipping by on the street below, especially around rush hour. But honestly, that’s part of the charm; it keeps things authentic, you know? And during quieter months like early fall, it’s blissfully peaceful, with the university crowd thinning out and the nearby parks turning all golden.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to blend into Verona life rather than stick to the postcard spots, this place is a gem. At 4 stars with an 8.9 rating, it’s solid value – way better than some overpriced hotels in the centro storico where you’re paying for the view but dealing with noise all night. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe in summer to catch an opera at the Arena and walk home along the river at dusk. Just pack light; the stairs to the upper floors can be a workout if you’ve got heavy bags. Well, that’s Verona for you – beautiful, a tad unpredictable, but always worth it.

Ann from Australia – 28 October 2024 (8/10)
Pleasant large apartment suitable for our group of four. Very comfortable king size beds in the large bedrooms. Third bedroom was a little small. Good location for walking to the old town, seeing everything Verona has to offer, and for finding cafes and restaurants,
What could be improved: Be aware there are two flights of stairs. The internal courtyard was rigged with scaffolding, tho no work conducted during our stay. Also, we missed having a clothes dryer during wet weather.Kostin from Israel – 26 September 2024 (8/10)
Large apartment with comfortable beds, good location very quiet and has a nearby public parking lot. Close to main city attractions, 15-20 minutes walking distance.
What could be improved: Internal wooden walls, small showers, AC not warming efficiently while main building heating system was turned off.Kate from United Kingdom – 23 August 2024 (9/10)
Lovely spacious apartment a short walk from the city centre. Quiet neighbourhood.
Maria from Canada – 12 August 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: No elevators stated and thought location was a bit closer to Centro.Roxana from Romania – 11 August 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was clean with spacious rooms. The air conditioning was great and the beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were very nice and it was useful to have a washing machine. Communication was very quick, and access to the property was straightforward. We really liked the location which was near the city centre but quiet with nice bars and restaurants nearby.
What could be improved: We were very happy with the apartment. Very minorl issue was that info on booking.com incorrectly suggested luggage storage was available.
