Casa Angie Overview

You know what really surprised me about Casa Angie? It’s one of those places that feels like you’ve stumbled onto a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. I mean, with a 9.4 rating, clearly the word is getting out, but there’s still this intimate, almost residential vibe that bigger hotels just can’t pull off.

The moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t your typical four-star property – and I mean that in the best way possible. The owners (I’m pretty sure they’re actually named Angie, or at least connected to someone who is) have this knack for making spaces feel lived-in without being cluttered. The lobby area has these gorgeous tiles that look original, maybe from the 70s or 80s, and honestly, they’ve aged beautifully. There’s usually soft music playing – not the generic hotel playlist stuff, but actual curated selections that change depending on the time of day. I noticed they tend to go jazzier in the evenings, which creates this really nice atmosphere if you’re having a drink or just unwinding.

What really sets Casa Angie apart is the attention to small details that actually matter. The rooms have these heavy curtains that – thank goodness – actually block out light if you’re trying to sleep in. The beds are properly firm (none of that sinking-into-quicksand feeling you get at some places), and the pillows come in different densities, which sounds minor but makes such a difference. The bathrooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, with enough counter space for your toiletries and water pressure that’s consistently strong. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, and even then, the hot water never faltered. The air conditioning is quiet too – you know how some hotel units sound like jet engines? Not here.

The breakfast situation is where you really see their personality shine through. It’s not a massive buffet spread, but everything they do offer feels intentional. Fresh local pastries, really good coffee (they must have a connection with a local roastery), and seasonal fruit that’s actually ripe. The staff remembers your coffee preferences after a day or two, which sounds small but feels genuinely welcoming. They’re also incredibly helpful with recommendations – not just the tourist trap suggestions, but places where they’d actually go themselves. I got pointed toward this fantastic little restaurant about a ten-minute walk away that I never would have found otherwise.

Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of year – it’s not that there isn’t space, but you might need to walk a block or two during peak season. Check-in is refreshingly straightforward, though they’re flexible if you arrive a bit early and your room happens to be ready. The whole place tends to quiet down nicely in the evenings, so if you’re someone who needs peace to sleep, you’ll appreciate that. Overall, Casa Angie strikes this perfect balance between being professionally run and maintaining that personal touch that makes you want to come back. It’s the kind of place you’d recommend to friends without any caveats – just pure enthusiasm.

  • Pam from Canada – 8 October 2024 (10/10)

The location was perfect walking distance. We did a self guided tour to 21 places most fairly close from our stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The balcony was adorable, and I was able to hang my laundry over the balcony Italian style 😎 handy washing machine, lots of closet space. The host was very helpful when we needed anything

What could be improved: Nothing it was perfect

  • Maria from Australia – 29 September 2024 (10/10)

It was very clean and in close to everything. The host was very friendly and gave some helpful information about the location. He also helped with our suitcase. There is also a washing machine which was very handy.

What could be improved: It was wasn’t a probably for us but it is up two flights of stairs. The host does help with the suitcases.

Perfect location with parking possibilities nearby.

  • Courtney from Netherlands – 14 June 2024 (10/10)

Perfect location, walking distance to everything needed. Pier was friendly and very welcoming and gave some great recommendations! Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in an authentic Italian apartment.

  • Anna from Hungary – 14 May 2024 (9/10)

Nice well equipped small apartment across Adige the river. Cosy and clean.
    Easy check-in

What could be improved: No elevator to the second floor. For us it was not a problem, but it can be for very old people.
    No lamp at the bed.

  • Marine from France – 7 March 2024 (8/10)

The appartement is very cosy and has this warm homely feeling. The location is just great to walk around the city by foot. Great food and restaurant suggestions from the owner that helped us enjoy Verona's food at its best!

What could be improved: The kitchen ustensils could be improved but overall it is very functionnal. Parking is difficult in the area, we got lucky.

  • Alexander from United States – 6 November 2023 (10/10)

Everything was great. Perfect location. Nice appartement. Big kitchen with lots of supplies. Large balcony.

What could be improved: Lighting can be improved, but it's not a big deal.

  • Diana from United Kingdom – 22 September 2023 (9/10)

Pier was a superb host and the apartment exceeded our expectations. Communication with Pier before our arrival was excellent and all the information he gave us about Verona of places to see, cafes, restaurants and bars, and the buses was really useful. The apartment was very clean, well equipped with everything we needed, and is in an ideal location to explore Verona whilst not right in the heart of the city. We would certainly recommend staying here.

  • Mariana from Bulgaria – 7 August 2023 (10/10)

Perfect position. Near the center, but very quiet. The honor is very polite .

    What could be improved: Nothing
