Casa Angie Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Stradone San Tomaso, you’ll spot Casa Angie tucked into one of those narrow medieval streets that make Verona feel like a living museum. This four-star boutique property sits right in the Città Antica — honestly, you can’t get more central than this without actually sleeping in Juliet’s balcony. The building itself has that weathered Italian charm where every stone seems to have a story, and the entrance feels refreshingly intimate after wandering through crowds of tourists just minutes away.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the heart of everything, but once you step inside, the noise just melts away. The Piazza delle Erbe is maybe a three-minute stroll, and you can reach the Arena di Verona in about the same time. What’s brilliant is that couples seem to absolutely adore this location (they’ve rated it a perfect 10), and I get why. You can duck out for an evening passeggiata, grab aperitivo at one of the nearby wine bars, then slip back to your quiet refuge without dealing with the chaos of staying right on the main squares.
The Room Experience
My room had this perfect blend of historical character and modern comfort that Italian hotels sometimes struggle to balance. The ceilings were beautifully high, and the windows — well, they actually opened properly, which is more rare than you’d think in these old buildings. The bathroom was compact but thoughtfully designed, with good water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking on cobblestones). What struck me most was how quiet everything felt, despite being surrounded by the bustling centro storico.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have this lovely rhythm — you can hear the city waking up through your windows, but it’s gentle rather than jarring. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, so when you ask about where locals actually eat (not just the tourist traps), they’ll point you toward those tiny osterias hidden down side streets. I mean, staying this central means you can pop back during the day if you need a break, which honestly saved me during Verona’s surprisingly intense summer heat.
Why Guests Love It
Casa Angie works because it gives you authentic Verona without the pretense. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or fancy amenities you won’t use — instead, you get a genuinely great location, comfortable accommodations, and that sense of staying somewhere locals might actually recommend. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience how seamlessly everything flows together. Whether you’re here for the opera season, exploring wine country, or just soaking up the Romeo and Juliet atmosphere, this place puts you exactly where you want to be without any of the usual downtown hotel headaches.

The balcony was adorable, and I was able to hang my laundry over the balcony Italian style 😎 handy washing machine, lots of closet space. The host was very helpful when we needed anything

Nice well equipped small apartment across Adige the river. Cosy and clean.
Easy check-in
What could be improved: No elevator to the second floor. For us it was not a problem, but it can be for very old people.
No lamp at the bed.Marine from France – 7 March 2024 (8/10)
The appartement is very cosy and has this warm homely feeling. The location is just great to walk around the city by foot. Great food and restaurant suggestions from the owner that helped us enjoy Verona's food at its best!
What could be improved: The kitchen ustensils could be improved but overall it is very functionnal. Parking is difficult in the area, we got lucky.Alexander from United States – 6 November 2023 (10/10)
Everything was great. Perfect location. Nice appartement. Big kitchen with lots of supplies. Large balcony.
What could be improved: Lighting can be improved, but it's not a big deal.Diana from United Kingdom – 22 September 2023 (9/10)
Pier was a superb host and the apartment exceeded our expectations. Communication with Pier before our arrival was excellent and all the information he gave us about Verona of places to see, cafes, restaurants and bars, and the buses was really useful. The apartment was very clean, well equipped with everything we needed, and is in an ideal location to explore Verona whilst not right in the heart of the city. We would certainly recommend staying here.
