The narrow alley creates this perfect buffer zone where you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this wonderful mix of old-world character and modern comfort that you don’t always find in historic buildings. The ceilings weren’t dramatically high, but the windows opened onto views that reminded you exactly where you were — ancient stone walls and terracotta rooftops stretching toward the hills. What struck me was how quiet everything felt once you closed the windows, which is no small feat when you’re this close to Verona’s main attractions. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and the bed was actually comfortable (sometimes that’s not a given in these older conversions).

Neighborhood Discoveries

You know what’s great about this location? You’ll stumble onto the best local spots just by wandering around. There’s this tiny restaurant literally around the corner that serves incredible risotto all’Amarone — the kind of place you’d never find if you were staying near the train station. The morning walk to grab coffee becomes this little adventure through medieval streets, and you start to understand why Verona feels different from other Italian tourist cities. It’s got that perfect scale where everything feels walkable but never rushed.

  The location was very good, right in the centre, and close to many of the attractions in Verona. Working shower with good water pressure, a full kitchen and a place to have dinner.
  
  What could be improved: The aircon was weak. Very weak. Even though it wasn't very hot when we were there, the aircon spent almost 24 hours cooling the apartment slightly. The bed was a bit weird, moving around in its frame sometimes.
