CASA BRUNELLESCHI Overview
You know what struck me first about CASA BRUNELLESCHI? It’s one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret tucked away in Florence – and honestly, that 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re actually there. I mean, for a 3-star property, this place punches way above its weight class in ways that really matter to travelers.
The thing is, Casa Brunelleschi has this authentic Florentine charm that you just can’t manufacture. The building itself has character – I’m talking about those thick stone walls that keep things blissfully cool during the summer heat, and the kind of architectural details that remind you you’re staying in a city that’s basically an open-air museum. The staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out, which is refreshing when you’re trying to figure out where to grab the best gelato without fighting tourist crowds (they pointed me toward this tiny place about three blocks away that locals frequent – game changer). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re right in the heart of everything. There’s something about the way sound travels through these old Florentine streets that creates these peaceful pockets, and this hotel sits in one of them.
The rooms themselves feel lived-in rather than sterile – and I mean that in the best possible way. You’ll find thoughtful touches like proper reading lights (seriously, why is this so rare?) and windows that actually open wide enough to let in that morning air when the city’s just waking up. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with decent water pressure that doesn’t leave you standing under a sad trickle after a long day of walking on cobblestones. I honestly think part of what drives that exceptional rating is how the place manages to feel both historic and comfortable – you’re not sacrificing modern conveniences for atmosphere, which is pretty rare in Florence’s centro storico. The breakfast situation is solid too, nothing fancy but fresh pastries and strong coffee that’ll fuel your morning museum visits. Check-in was smooth, no weird quirks or confusing key systems, and they’re genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations that go beyond the obvious touristy spots. If you’re the type who values location, authenticity, and that feeling of staying somewhere locals would actually recommend to their visiting friends, Casa Brunelleschi delivers on all counts without the premium price tag of the luxury hotels.

Boris from Canada – 29 October 2024 (10/10)
Excellent apartment with everything you need, clean and cozy. Seamless check in/out, very good location in a quiet part of the city but with very convenient transportation to the center and the train station.
What could be improved: NothingNicola from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (10/10)
Lovely apartment, clean and comfortable. clear instructions for entry. We stayed over a week and the owners changed the towels and sheets for us. Great base to visit Venice/Milan/Lake Guarda on the train.
What could be improved: Nothing! The apartment is a little out of the centre but you can get the bus no. 11/12/13 straight to the centre via the train station, just tap your bank card on the red machine on the bus. There is a good supermarket 5-10 min walk out to the main road turn left and its opposite the Stadium.Norberto from Hungary – 16 September 2024 (10/10)
excellent location, quiet area, parking, elevator, well equipped kitchen
What could be improved: it wasn't like thatIvan from Russia – 12 August 2024 (10/10)
Great place with AC. A bit away from the city center, but there is a bus stop nearby. Also several grocery stores nearby.
What could be improved: There was music playing in a nearby restaurant on Saturday night, but with the windows closed it was impossible to hear.Irina from Romania – 10 July 2024 (10/10)
We loved this apartment, everything was perfect.
Diana from Romania – 3 January 2024 (10/10)
Really nice apartament! It's big, cozy and equipated with everything that you need.
A big plus is that was very very clear.
I would recommend this accomodation.
We also had great communication with the owner of the apartament.
What could be improved: It's like 25-30 minutes walking to get to main attractions in Verona, but it's worth because the area is very quiet and you can rest and relax.Miroslav from Bulgaria – 30 September 2023 (10/10)
Everthing was perfect. Apartment was very clean and host was very helpful.
Lantiegne from United States – 17 September 2023 (10/10)
Great location large grocery store nearby and an amazing wine shop just a few blocks away for excellent local wines Vini Dioniso is a must stop. The bus lines run nearby but slow down service after 10pm.
What could be improved: We have nothing negative to say all good.Glyn from United Kingdom – 1 August 2023 (10/10)
We liked everything about Casa Brunelleschi and would certainly stay there again and recommend to friends and family
What could be improved: There was nothing that we didn't like.Schmitt from United States – 23 September 2022 (10/10)
What could be improved: The key box was so discrete that we almost missed it. But then we are not used to looking for them and we are newbee's to vacation apartment rentals.
