Honestly, when I first turned onto Via Don Carlo Steeb and spotted Casa Carina, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star in this part of Verona. But stepping inside, it just felt right — warm, personal, the kind of place where someone actually cares that you’re there. It’s not a big flashy property, and that’s exactly the point. The name fits, too — there’s something genuinely charming about it.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, the location alone is worth talking about. You’re sitting right in the historical centre of Verona — not “close to” it, not “a short walk from” it, actually in it. The Arena di Verona is nearby, Juliet’s house is walkable, and you’ve got that whole beautiful tangle of medieval streets right outside the door. Couples especially seem to fall for this spot, and honestly it makes total sense — the surroundings are ridiculously romantic in the best, most understated way. The location rating of 9.8 from guests isn’t surprising at all once you’re standing there.

The Rooms

The rooms at Casa Carina are comfortable and well put together — nothing over-engineered, just thoughtful. You get what you need without the clutter, and the spaces feel clean and calm after a day of wandering cobblestone streets. The kind of room where you actually sleep well, which, after hours of sightseeing, matters more than people admit. It’s a three-star, so keep your expectations grounded, but the quality-to-price ratio here is genuinely solid.

The Little Things That Matter

One thing that stood out — free parking. In a city centre like Verona, that’s not a small thing. If you’re driving in from elsewhere in Italy or crossing over from Lake Garda (which plenty of people do), not having to hunt for a garage or stress about overnight fees is a real relief. It’s the sort of practical detail that makes a stay feel easier from the moment you arrive. The staff also have that quality where they give you useful local tips without making it feel like a rehearsed script — you know what I mean, actual advice rather than a laminated map.

Casa Carina has a guest rating of 9.4, which for a three-star property in a competitive city like Verona says a lot. People come back, or at least they leave happy enough to tell others. It works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not — it’s a well-run, well-located small hotel with a genuine sense of place. If you’re visiting Verona as a couple, or even solo and just want somewhere that feels rooted in the city rather than floating above it, this is the kind of stay that ends up being the right call.   Centrally located place. Walkable distance to all the city attractions. Free car parking available with the city pass. Spacious apartment with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The host was amazing, always available to help us and accommodate all our requests . Very helpful and we highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Verona!

  We liked the property because it was very close to the train station, plus we were not in the old historic section where all the tourist were. The apartment had a well stocked kitchen, and it was clean.
  
  What could be improved: I know this is personal style, but the apartment was a bit over furnished. There was many unnecessary items. The apartment would have felt more spacious if some of those items were removed. An ironing board and hangers would be a nice addition.

  Host communicated on time, in details and was very friendly. Location close to the center, the flat itself is very spacious, very well equiped, nice and clean. Lots of kitchen equipments, toiletteries, etc. Highly recommended!!

  The place is perfectly located especially when arriving by train (between station and old town) There is also a good gelateria very near that is open until late. 🙂
