Casa Chicca Stadio Verona Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Casa Chicca Stadio Verona? The name basically tells you everything – it’s literally positioned for stadium access, but honestly, that turned out to be way more charming than I expected. I mean, when you first hear “stadium hotel,” you’re probably picturing something pretty basic, right? But this 3-star spot actually has this cozy, family-run vibe that feels more like staying at someone’s well-appointed guesthouse than your typical match-day crash pad.
The location is genuinely smart if you’re planning to catch a game or event at the stadium – you can practically walk there without breaking a sweat. But here’s the thing I didn’t anticipate: even when there’s nothing happening at the venue, you’re still in this nice residential pocket of Verona where you get a feel for how locals actually live. The streets around here aren’t packed with tourists taking selfies every five seconds, which honestly feels like a luxury these days. I found myself wandering around in the mornings, grabbing coffee at little neighborhood bars where they knew everyone’s usual order. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given). The beds are actually decent, and I slept well despite being someone who usually struggles with hotel mattresses. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making sure you had what you needed. They weren’t just going through the motions, you know? When I asked about getting into the city center, they didn’t just hand me a tourist map – they actually explained which bus routes made the most sense and mentioned a couple spots worth checking out that weren’t in my guidebook.
The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it does what it promises really well. The whole operation feels thoughtfully run – like someone put actual consideration into the details that matter to travelers. Parking was straightforward (always a relief in Italy), the Wi-Fi worked consistently, and the breakfast, while simple, had good local touches. I actually ended up staying an extra night because it felt like such a solid base for exploring different parts of Verona without dealing with the crowds and premium prices you get closer to the main tourist zones. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between practical and pleasant – especially if you’ve got stadium plans or just want to experience a more authentic slice of the city – this place delivers exactly what you’d hope for.

Aleksandra from Slovenia – 11 November 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: Lediglich Weingläser haben in der Ausstattung gefehlt;)Paul from Canada – 15 July 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Zugang war ein wenig umständlich, erst einmal verstanden dann i.O. Bisl "Lara Croft und Indiana Jones" macht auch Spass 😉Laetitia from Switzerland – 17 May 2024 (8/10)
Honza from Czech Republic – 29 April 2024 (9/10)
