CASA DELLA ZIA ELSA Overview
You know what? CASA DELLA ZIA ELSA is one of those places that completely caught me off guard – in the best possible way. I mean, with a name like that (literally “Aunt Elsa’s House”), I was expecting something quaint but maybe a bit dated. Instead, I walked into what honestly felt like staying at your coolest Italian aunt’s place, if she happened to have impeccable taste and actually knew how to run a proper guesthouse.
The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of warmth that’s hard to fake. The floors have that authentic worn-smooth feeling under your feet, and everything smells faintly of lavender and maybe some kind of wood polish that reminds me of old family furniture. What really got me though was how Elsa herself (yes, there’s an actual Elsa) seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re settled in. She’ll chat with you about local restaurants – not the tourist traps, but places where she actually eats – and I swear she remembers everyone’s coffee preferences by day two. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy, with these gorgeous old shutters that actually block out light when you need to sleep in. Fair warning though: the stairs creak a bit, so if you’re a super light sleeper on the ground floor, you might hear people heading up to bed.
What sets this place apart is the attention to details that matter but don’t show up in photos. The shower pressure is fantastic, there are enough outlets by the bed for your devices, and – this might sound weird – but the towels actually smell fresh, not like they’ve been sitting in a laundry basket for days. The breakfast setup is simple but thoughtful: really good coffee, local pastries that change depending on what’s seasonal, and fresh fruit that’s actually ripe. I found myself lingering over breakfast way longer than usual, partly because the little courtyard area catches the morning sun perfectly, and partly because Elsa would pop by with recommendations based on whatever you mentioned wanting to see that day. Honestly, with a 9.1 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but this felt more like discovering a hidden gem that somehow everyone else has figured out too. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t mind that it’s more “charming family home” than “sleek hotel,” you’ll probably love it here.
Verona’s apartments offer charming accommodations with period features, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Italian city.

Stanza accogliente e pulita. Staff molto gentile. Un ottimo soggiorno
What could be improved: Niente . Tutto okJose from Spain – 1 January 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: El wifi no funcionaba muy bien.Barbara from Italy – 13 October 2024 (10/10)

Salma from Egypt – 28 June 2022 (9/10)
Well, the room is huge, modern, clean, and beautiful. It's similar to the rooms in a five starts hotel.
I wouldn't change anything in the room amenities.
What could be improved: The location is not really in the center, it's around 25/35 minutes walking to the center depending on which attraction you want to see. Honestly, it is still doable, because there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel and Transportation in Verona is well organized. But you should still consider this.Jessyca from Singapore – 3 June 2022 (9/10)
