Casa di Silvia – City Center Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa di Silvia – City Center on Via Antonio Maffi, you’d honestly never guess from the street that you’re about to step into one of Verona’s highest-rated accommodations. It’s tucked away on the first floor of what looks like any other residential building, but that’s actually part of its charm — you feel like you’re staying in a real Italian home rather than some sterile hotel. The four-star property has this intimate, almost secret quality that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special that most tourists miss.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in the heart of Verona, but on a quiet residential street that locals actually use. I mean, you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about eight minutes, hit the Arena in ten, but when you come home at night, there’s no tourist chaos outside your window. The couples who stay here get it — they’ve rated the location 9.4, and honestly, I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from Via Mazzini’s crowds that you can actually breathe.
The Space Itself
The room feels more like staying in a stylish Italian friend’s apartment than a typical hotel setup. Everything’s been thoughtfully designed with this modern-meets-classic Italian aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard. The space is compact but clever — they’ve maximized every inch without making it feel cramped, which is honestly impressive given how tight real estate is in Verona’s centro storico. The attention to detail is what gets me though — from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the furniture, it all just works.
What Makes It Work
Casa di Silvia has this rare quality where everything feels effortless, but you know someone’s put serious thought into the guest experience. The building itself has character — you know, those thick walls and high ceilings that you only get in older Italian properties — but they’ve updated it with all the modern touches you actually need. The fact that it’s on the primo piano (first floor) means you’re not hauling luggage up endless stairs, which trust me, matters more than you think when you’re dealing with cobblestone streets and wheeled suitcases.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects how this place gets the balance right between authentic Italian living and modern comfort. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where you’ll see the same barista every morning and maybe chat with locals walking their dogs, but you’re also minutes from every major sight Verona has to offer. It’s the kind of place where you can grab groceries at the local market, people-watch from a nearby café, then be at the opera in the Arena before sunset. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Italian hideaway while still being connected to everything that makes Verona magical.

The location, the parking, the host, the cosy interior
Anca from Canada – 28 September 2024 (10/10)
Location within walking distance to Centro Storico. Covered garage, outside ZTL. The unit very clean, decorated with style. Attention to detail every step of the way: from messages providing guidance on how to access the garage and the unit, to notebooks and books in the unit providing additional information to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Complimentary gifts that were unexpected but very much appreciated. Silvia takes pride in her unit and takes care of her guests.

The apartment was in a nice area. Close to the balcony of Juliet, which is a plus.
The apartment itself was really clean, had very nice furniture and very well designed. We were positively surprised by how many trinkets there were available for the guests to use.
The communication with Silvia was 10+! Always available at a short notice, literallt answering messages after 19 seconds. Definitely the most politest and kindest host we have ever had.

What could be improved: –Mikk from Estonia – 29 June 2022 (10/10)
The place is really roomy and well decorated/cosy. Host is super helpful and sent all the information needed upfront and was available to us 24/7. It is situated right on the edge of the old city so it was really convenient to get around with kids.
What could be improved: Parking is only available for upto medium sized cars (our fault – did not notice it while booking), but host helped us out with information about public parking and location of parking houses.
