Casa di Sophia Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa di Sophia on Via Adigetto, you immediately get that feeling you’re somewhere special. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Verona’s historical center, and I mean really in the heart — you’re literally steps away from everything that makes this city magical. The building itself has that authentic Italian charm you can’t fake, with weathered stone and those classic shuttered windows that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard.
The Perfect Location
Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable. You can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, and the Arena di Verona is just around the corner — I’m talking a five-minute stroll, max. What I really love is how you’re tucked away on this quieter street, so you get all the benefits of being central without the constant tourist crowds right outside your window. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about it (they give the location a 9.6 rating), and I totally get why — there’s something incredibly romantic about being able to wander these ancient streets at night and then slip back to your cozy base.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how Italian hotels can be tiny, but this place actually makes good use of the space. The decor strikes that perfect balance between traditional Italian style and modern comfort, with nice touches like quality linens and decent lighting for reading. The bathroom was clean and functional, though don’t expect a massive shower — it’s Europe, after all. What really impressed me was how quiet it was at night, considering you’re smack in the middle of everything.
Exploring the Neighborhood
One thing that really sets this place apart is how it puts you right in the middle of authentic Verona life. There’s this fantastic little café literally next door where locals grab their morning espresso, and you’ll find yourself naturally falling into that Italian rhythm of short, strong coffee and quick conversations. The evening passeggiata (that lovely Italian tradition of the evening stroll) happens right outside your door — it’s like having front-row seats to daily Veronese life. Plus, when you want dinner, you’ve got some seriously good restaurant options within a two-minute walk, including a couple of spots that locals actually frequent.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Casa di Sophia isn’t just the location (though that 9.5 location score speaks for itself) — it’s how the place makes you feel like you’re actually living in Verona rather than just visiting. The staff genuinely cares about your experience and will point you toward the good gelato spots and away from the tourist traps. For the price point, you’re getting incredible value, especially when you factor in how much you’ll save on transportation since everything is walkable. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.

Emilia from Italy – 4 December 2024 (7/10)
Aveva tutto il necessario, angolo cottura, frigo, bagno molto comodo. Posizione comoda per il centro, 500 metri circa rispetto all'Arena. Piano terra.
What could be improved: Il rapporto qualità/prezzo ed un cattivo odore proveniente dal pavimento.Monica from Italy – 24 November 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: The room is very cold, the air conditioner does not work in warm mode
There were not enough towels for a 3-day stay in the apartment, there were dirty floors in the bathroom
the owners of the apartments do not respond to messages at all, so it is better not to book these apartmentsSophie from United Kingdom – 9 October 2024 (7/10)
Easy accessible door using virtual key.
What could be improved: For me we was there a week and could have done with fresh towels or a washing machine in the property.Nanda from Netherlands – 30 September 2024 (8/10)
De regendouche was heerlijk. Verder lekker centraal gelegen.

The Location was very pleasant. Close to the Arena. Close to the Aldi supermarket. Not noisy at all. Perfect airco system. Decent beds.

Great sized apartment with large bed, dining table, a decent kitchen area equipped with most of what we needed, generous bathroom and a very small outdoor area with bistro table and two chairs (ideal for smokers, but we aren't so barely used it).
Good location, just 7 minute walk to Piazza Bra and the Arena, and 5 minutes from an Aldi and an independent greengrocers – handy for self-catering. We would definitely recommend it and if coming back to Verona wouldn't hesitate to come back.
The wifi was great, and the aircon was a God-send in 35 degree C heat – pretty quick and efficient.
The entry via code is very clever and meant you never had to worry about forgetting or sharing a key.
What could be improved: Only very minor points – there were a couple of areas of damage in the apartment, one in the floor, one on the wall, and a little bit of the shower trim which suggested that the cleaners weren't reporting maintenance issues. We flagged these up to the owner so hopefully those will be resolved.
The main lighting is bright enough to light a sports court(!), but thankfully, the wall light, bedside lamp and the little touch lights in the alcove provided alternative ambient lighting.
It would be super helpful to have a teatowel or two for drying hands/dishes in the kitchen, and a bathmat for when you get out of the shower. But these are really very small recommendations for improvements.Jolanda from Austria – 16 July 2024 (9/10)
We had a lovely time in Verona and we're very happy with the location of the appartment. It is close to the historic centre and we did everything by footh.
The apartment was clean and the airco worked perfectly. When we had a question there was a fast reply and the communication was really fast and friendly. Thank you!Diane from United Kingdom – 4 May 2024 (9/10)
Great location. Allowed a later check out. Excellent facilities. Quiet area Help when needed. Definitely recommend
What could be improved: Only criticism would be bedside tables, needed for glasses of wineLizzie from United Kingdom – 7 September 2023 (9/10)
Fantastic location, right in the centre but on a side street so not too noisy. Apartment was clean and modern and comfortable. Previous reviews indicated there was a problem with the bed and the light, but this has been fixed, as the bed is comfortable and there are blackout blinds. We very much appreciated the air conditioning after a days sightseeing! Check in with Vikey was easy.
What could be improved: Cooking facilities were minimal, and it would have been nice if there was a small amount of coffee available for when we arrived.
