Casa Giardini Overview

First Impressions

Casa Giardini sits quietly on Via Stanga, tucked away from Verona’s tourist crowds in a way that feels like you’ve stumbled onto a local secret. The building itself is unassuming — you might walk past it if you weren’t looking — but that’s actually part of its charm. This three-star property occupies the first floor of what looks like a residential building, and honestly, that residential feel continues inside in the best possible way. It’s intimate and personal, more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a traditional hotel.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re close enough to the historic center that you can walk there easily (about 15 minutes to the Arena), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos of the tourist zone. The neighborhood feels authentically Italian, with local cafes and small shops that cater to residents rather than visitors. Plus, there’s free private parking, which anyone who’s tried to park in Verona’s center will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The couples who stay here seem to particularly appreciate this balance — close enough for romance, quiet enough for rest.

The Rooms

The rooms have this lovely residential quality that matches the building’s character. They’re thoughtfully designed without being fussy — clean lines, comfortable furnishings, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The windows let in plenty of natural light, and you know what struck me? The attention to detail in things like bedding quality and bathroom amenities. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. The space feels generous too, especially compared to some of the cramped quarters you’ll find in Verona’s historic hotels.

The Experience

What sets Casa Giardini apart is the personal attention you get here. The staff — and I mean this genuinely — seem to actually want you to have a good time in their city. They’ll give you restaurant recommendations that locals would approve of, not just the obvious tourist spots. The whole operation feels carefully curated rather than mass-produced. It’s the kind of place where they remember your name and ask how your day went when you return from sightseeing. That 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you experience this level of care.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gets the fundamentals right while adding those personal touches that make a stay memorable. You’re getting excellent value — the quality feels higher than the three-star rating might suggest, but without the pretension or price tag of upscale properties. The combination of that peaceful location, the free parking, and the genuine hospitality creates something special. It’s particularly perfect for couples who want to explore Verona at their own pace, then retreat to somewhere that feels like a home base rather than just another hotel room. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to return to Verona just so you can stay here again.

Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

  • Moisés from Mexico – 10 August 2024 (10/10)

Very clean and modern, you can tell it’s been renovated recently.

What could be improved: There is nothing to not like. It’s not walkable to the city center, but we parked at the free parking in Porta Palio

  • Anca from Romania – 27 July 2024 (10/10)

Everything was 10+, a very nice experience we've had here.

    What could be improved: –

  • Christene from Australia – 24 July 2024 (9/10)

Spacious, well equipped room and bathroom. Communal kitchen/dining area was clean and also well equipped. Large supermarket within 10 mins walk, multiple bus stops within 5 mins walk.

What could be improved: Nothing. Is out of town so public transport options are extremely limited late at night (particularly if you want to attend the famous Opera) – this is not the accommodation's fault.

  • Andreas from Germany – 30 May 2024 (10/10)

Best apartment I had in along time. Everything perfect.

  • Umartariq from Belgium – 26 May 2024 (9/10)

Everything was good, clean and equipped. The host was available during the check-in, she explained everything and the room was available on time.

What could be improved: The city centre is slightly far but there was good connectivity with bus nearby.
