Casa Giulia Overview
You know what really struck me about Casa Giulia when I first walked through those doors? It’s got this whole lived-in elegance thing going on – not the stuffy kind you get at some boutique places, but more like staying at your sophisticated Italian aunt’s house (assuming she has impeccable taste and always keeps fresh flowers around). The lobby feels warm rather than impressive, if that makes sense, with these gorgeous terracotta tiles that probably have stories to tell and furniture that looks like it was chosen piece by piece over years, not ordered from some hotel catalog.
I mean, let’s be honest – it’s a three-star place, so you’re not getting marble everything and a concierge who knows your coffee order by heart. But honestly? That 8.9 rating isn’t just random numbers. The rooms have character – mine had these beautiful wooden shutters that actually worked (minor miracle in my experience), and the bed was one of those perfect firm-but-not-hard situations that had me sleeping better than I do at home. The bathroom was compact but thoughtfully designed, with decent water pressure and those little touches that show someone cares – good lighting around the mirror, a shelf that’s actually big enough for your toiletries, towels that don’t feel like sandpaper. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night. You know how some places have paper-thin walls where you hear every conversation in the hallway? Not here.
The breakfast situation is where Casa Giulia really shines, actually. They do this spread that feels authentically local rather than trying to please every possible international palate – proper Italian coffee (none of that watery hotel stuff), fresh pastries that taste like they came from around the corner, and local cheeses and cured meats that change based on what’s good that week. I found myself lingering over breakfast way longer than usual, partly because the coffee was that good and partly because the little courtyard where they serve it has this peaceful morning light that makes you want to plan your whole day right there. The staff – and this might sound small but it matters – actually seemed to enjoy chatting with guests rather than just going through the motions. They gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on, not tourist traps but places where locals actually eat. Sure, Casa Giulia might not have all the bells and whistles of a luxury chain, but it’s got something better: personality and genuine warmth that makes you feel like you discovered something special rather than just booked another room.
Best hotels in Verona range from luxurious properties in the historic city center to boutique hotels with stunning views of the Adige River and ancient Roman amphitheater.

Very well equipped for a family stay. Great restaurant recommendation by the host.
Excellent locationPauline from Australia – 14 January 2025 (8/10)
Good sized property only a short walk over the river. Rental bikes on the corner make it easy to get around. Bedroom at rear of property so sleeping space quiet.
What could be improved: Opens directly onto the road – wasn’t a huge problem, just not what we’re used to.Esperança from United Kingdom – 6 October 2024 (9/10)
Great location. Flat is really clean, and the host leaves there everything you’ll need. Flat is close to bus stops 1 min away, and city centre, 10min walking distance

Location, room space
What could be improved: Noise as motor pass by street all the nightPam from New Zealand – 3 October 2024 (9/10)
Lovely place, great location just outside hustle and bustle. Nice easy food options close by. Comfortable beds and great to have a washing machine.
What could be improved: Would have been nice to have a jug/kettle.Jenny from United Kingdom – 21 May 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location as slightly outside the old city but a minute’s walk to the old Roman bridge across. Also we really liked the trattoria literally 30 metres from the front door. Authentic pasta and other Italian dishes, a high quality limited number of specials each day.
Guilia was very easy to deal with regarding on the day booking in.Natasha from United Kingdom – 3 May 2024 (9/10)
Excellent experience. Great location, apartment was centrally located, clean and the host was very responsive to texts. I would highly recommend staying here.

The house is lovely, really spacious and clean, equiped with everything you need for a short stay. It's on the ground floor, in a quiet street, just a few minutes from the Ponto Pietra and 10-15 minutes of walking distance from the city center. Great coffee shop/bakery just across the apartment.
The owner is really kind and helpful, always available to help with anything.
We enjoyed in Casa Giulia very much, and will definitely be back!Mauri from Argentina – 19 February 2024 (9/10)
It was huge, the best location and it was packed with every essential items. Host was very kind and she even left some snacks.
What could be improved: Nothing! All excellent!Angelica from Romania – 27 July 2023 (9/10)
I would like to start by saying that I didn't expect to have such a lovely time in a different house. Somehow in just 3 days that we spent there, we ended up feeling like it is a second home. We arrived in a house that didn't miss anything, from detergent, to clean towels, to kitchen equipment, all of it felt brand new and of good quality. We had a great time, the location was so nice and the host helped us with instructions regarding the parking lot, she was really helpful. The host even messaged us to check in on us after a huge storm happened in Verona. We appreciated the attention that she put into making this trip an experience that we would never forget. She even left us some treats in the fridge upon our arrival, what more can you ask from someone. It was delightful, if we ever get the chance to come back in Verona, I would surely book this place again for myself and the family, they loved it as much as I did.
What could be improved: It was a short trip. One our last day it was it was a huge storm and it was pretty violent outside, it was a little bit scary, but we felt safe. My children were a bit disturbed by the noise made by the tourists or cars, since the house is directly on the street, but that was not that big of an issue.
