Casa Italia Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Casa Italia, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem really caught me off guard with how much character it has packed into what feels like a genuinely Italian experience.
The moment you step inside, there’s this warm, family-run vibe that’s getting harder and harder to find these days. I mean, the owners actually seem to care about whether you’re enjoying your stay, which sounds basic but honestly feels pretty rare now. The rooms have this lived-in authenticity – not Instagram-perfect, but comfortable in that European way where everything’s been chosen for a reason rather than just looking good in photos. The beds are surprisingly solid (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are clean with decent water pressure, though don’t expect a rainfall shower or anything fancy like that. What really got me was the attention to small details – fresh flowers in the common areas, the way they’ve arranged the breakfast setup, little touches that show someone’s actually thinking about the guest experience rather than just going through the motions.
Here’s the thing that really won me over – the breakfast situation is actually pretty great. Not your typical continental spread, but proper Italian coffee (finally, someone who knows how to make espresso) and pastries that taste like they came from a local bakery rather than some industrial supplier. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy chatting with guests too, which I found refreshing after staying at places where everyone’s clearly counting down to their shift ending. The common areas get a nice buzz in the evening when people are coming and going, but it quiets down nicely by around 10 PM, so you’re not dealing with noise issues if you’re trying to get some sleep. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle depending on the season – I’d definitely ask them about it when you book because street parking in the area fills up pretty quickly during busy periods. That 8.8 rating makes total sense to me; it’s one of those places that over-delivers on what you’d expect from the price point, and honestly, I’d rather stay somewhere with this kind of genuine hospitality than some sterile chain hotel that costs twice as much.

Fantastic place to stay, perfectly located between the train station and the city centre. Everything was as expected and the shower had amazing water pressure! We also appreciated all the plants 🪴 The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very easy check-in, clean & spacious room with bathroom, coffee machine on site, lovely & polite staff and great location (close both to city centre and main train station) – definitely worth the money and if I’ll ever be in Verona again I’d gladly stay in this place again 🙂

Very warm welcome on arrival! Good size rooms with aircon, en-suite shower and comfortable beds. All spotless clean. Great location for us, 4 adults, being midway and within walking distance of the town centre and railway station.
