Casa La Melagrana Overview
I stumbled upon Casa La Melagrana almost by accident – you know how sometimes the best finds happen when you’re not even looking? This 4-star gem earned its impressive 9.0 rating the hard way, and honestly, after spending a few nights there, I totally get why guests keep raving about it.
What struck me first wasn’t the lobby or the rooms (though both are lovely), but how the staff actually remembered my name by day two. I mean, that sounds small, but when you’re traveling and feeling a bit anonymous, having someone greet you like an old friend makes all the difference. The whole place has this warm, lived-in feeling – not in a shabby way, but like staying at your most stylish relative’s house. You’ll notice little touches everywhere that feel intentional rather than corporate: maybe it’s the way they arrange fresh flowers in unexpected corners, or how the morning coffee setup actually includes really good beans instead of the usual hotel swill.
The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between comfortable and character-filled. I particularly loved the attention to lighting – there’s nothing worse than hotel rooms where you can either have everything blazingly bright or stumble around in the dark, but here they’ve actually thought about creating atmosphere. The beds are properly firm (thank goodness), and the linens feel like something you’d splurge on for your own home. What really won me over, though, was the shower pressure – I know it’s such a basic thing, but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong. Storage space is generous too, which matters if you’re the type who likes to actually unpack rather than live out of a suitcase.
The breakfast deserves its own mention because it’s clearly not an afterthought. Fresh pastries that taste homemade, local jams, and they’ll make your eggs however you want them – none of that sad buffet situation with rubbery scrambled eggs sitting under heat lamps. I found myself looking forward to mornings there, which honestly doesn’t happen often when I’m traveling. The dining area gets lovely natural light, and there’s something about starting your day in a space that feels cared for that just sets the right tone.
Look, no place is perfect – the Wi-Fi occasionally had moments in the evenings when everyone was streaming, and if you’re someone who needs blackout curtains to sleep, you might want to mention that when booking. But these are minor quibbles with what’s genuinely a special place. Casa La Melagrana feels like it’s run by people who actually care about hospitality, not just occupancy rates. It’s the kind of spot where you find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out, and honestly, that 9.0 rating feels well-earned rather than inflated.
Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

Teller, etc.
"Parkplatz inbegriffen" bedeutet, Parkplatz auf der Straße suchen.
Das WLAN lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig, wenn es mal funktioniert sind max 200kb/s möglich, meistens funktioniert es jedoch nicht; bei dem 3G/4G(?) Router fehlen auch die Antennen …
