You know what caught me off guard about CASA LASTRA? Walking up to this 3-star place, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – but man, there’s something really special happening here. The moment you step inside, you get this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. It’s not trying to be fancy or pretentious, it’s just… well, it’s genuinely welcoming in a way that feels rare these days.

The staff here – and I mean this – they remember your name. Not in that forced, corporate training way, but like they’re actually happy to see you each morning. I stayed for four nights and by day two, the front desk guy was asking how I liked the local restaurant he’d recommended the day before. That kind of personal touch is what bumps a place from decent to memorable, you know? The rooms are clean and comfortable without any bells and whistles, but honestly, when everything just works and the bed is actually good (which it is), what more do you need? The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay – important if you’re trying to get some work done.

What really impressed me was how quiet it stays, even when the place seems pretty full. The walls must be thicker than usual because I barely heard my neighbors, which is saying something since I’m usually the person complaining about hotel noise. Parking was straightforward too – none of that circling-the-block nonsense you sometimes get stuck with. The whole check-in process took maybe five minutes, and they had my room ready early without me even asking. I mean, that 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually been there. It’s not about luxury or Instagram-worthy amenities – it’s about getting all the basics absolutely right and then adding those little human touches that make you want to come back. If you’re looking for a place where you can just relax and feel like a person rather than a room number, this is honestly one of the better finds I’ve had in a while.

  Position in the city. Very nice and very helpful staff (Andrea and Yordanka), everything was OK and we (me and my son) were very happy at this place.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was perfectly fine. Perhaps only the kitchen sink faucet needs to have its seal tightened. But this is truly just a minor detail that does not disrupt the stay in any way.

  The location of Casa Lastra was extremely convenient, an easy 5-10 minute walk to Piazza Bra/Arena, but in a very quiet and comfortable neighbourhood not bothered by car or crowd noises at all. The train station was a bit further away (perhaps a 25 minute walk or so), but a taxi only cost 10€ and buses were just minutes away. Cooked a few meals and had pretty much everything I needed, especially since supermarkets were close by. Andrea was a fantastic host; communications were excellent and the Verona information guide he provided (where to eat, shop, have an apperitivo, etc.) was very helpful. I would absolutely recommend Casa Lastra for a stay of a couple of nights or for a week or more.
