You know what caught me off guard about Casa Matilde? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top amenities, but somehow ends up being exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for. I mean, with a 7.4 rating, I wasn’t expecting miracles, but honestly – sometimes those middle-ground places surprise you the most.

The thing about Casa Matilde is that it feels like staying at someone’s well-loved family home, if that family happened to have really good taste and understood what travelers actually need. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – you’ll find thoughtful touches like proper bedside lighting (thank god, because how many hotels mess that up?) and windows that actually open for fresh air. I spent a good chunk of one afternoon just sitting by the window watching the street life below, which sounds boring but was actually pretty entertaining. The neighborhood has this authentic rhythm to it that you don’t get in the touristy zones.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making your stay work, rather than just going through the motions. They’re the kind of people who remember your name after day two and can point you toward the bakery that locals actually go to – not the overpriced one three blocks over that all the guidebooks mention. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no upselling or lengthy speeches about facilities you’ll probably never use. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in the area, so if you’re driving, maybe call ahead and ask for their advice on where to leave your car. I learned that the hard way after circling the block a few times. The Wi-Fi works fine, the hot water is reliable, and the beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept through the night – which, if you’re a light sleeper like me, you know is not always guaranteed when you’re somewhere new. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics really right instead of chasing Instagram-worthy moments that look better than they feel.

  What could be improved: Nella descrizione c’era scritto che avremmo trovato l’aria condizionata, in realtà c’era un ventilatore Dyson (non proprio la stessa cosa). Abbiamo chiesto info all’host per prenotare un taxi o per gestire la ztl e non ha saputo dare nessuna informazione

  Il bellissimo appartamento, situato in posizione centrale, perfetta per raggiungere tutti i luoghi di interesse della città, è dotato di tutti i comfort per un soggiorno ottimale. Le ragazze dello staff sono state molto gentili e disponibili per tutta la durata del nostro soggiorno! Vivamente consigliato!

  What could be improved: Le foto sul sito di booking non rappresentavano quanto ci è stato effettivamente proposto. La stanza era molto rumorosa e la notte abbiamo faticato a dormire. Consegnare le chiavi è stato problematico perché ci sono state date informazioni sbagliate

  街の中心地からすぐで、観光には最適です。直前のスケジュール変更でチェックインの19時に間に合わなそうだったのですが、ご相談したところ快く対応してくださいました。返信も早く、対応も良かったです。宿は広く、写真通りの部屋で、今回は一泊のみの滞在でしたが、連泊でも快適に過ごせる設備と広さだと思います。
