Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Casa Palladio 29 almost by accident last spring when I was chasing that perfect Verona getaway – the kind where you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. It’s tucked away on Viale Palladio in the Borgo Milano neighborhood, right near the stadium – yeah, the Bentegodi, where Hellas Verona plays, so if you’re into football, you might catch some game-day energy spilling over. But honestly, it’s more of a residential spot, with those quiet side streets lined with old apartment blocks and little cafes where locals grab their morning espresso. I drove in from Milan, and parking was a bit of a hassle – street spots are tight, especially on match days, but the hotel has a small garage (book it ahead, trust me). Walking up, the building looks like one of those understated Italian villas, all cream stucco and wrought-iron balconies, nothing flashy, but it hits you with that welcoming vibe as soon as you step inside. The lobby smells faintly of fresh lavender – they must use it in the cleaning stuff – and the check-in was a breeze, with this chatty receptionist who tipped me off about a nearby trattoria on Via San Marco that does killer amatriciana without the tourist prices.
What really sold me on the place, though, was how it feels like a home away from home, not some sterile chain. My room was on the second floor, overlooking a little courtyard garden – complete with blooming oleanders in May, which made mornings magical with the birds chirping and that soft Verona sunlight filtering through. It’s a 4-star spot, sure, but they nail the details: the beds are plush with those high-thread-count sheets that actually feel luxurious, and the bathroom had one of those rain showers that washes away the day’s wanderings. Breakfast is included, and oh man, it’s not your average buffet – fresh croissants, local cheeses from the Veneto region, and coffee that’s strong enough to wake the dead. I mean, I lingered there every morning, chatting with other guests about day trips to Lake Garda (it’s only a 40-minute drive from here, by the way). The Wi-Fi’s solid for streaming, and there’s a cozy lounge area with books on Verona’s history – I flipped through one about the Roman arena while sipping a complimentary herbal tea in the evening. One minor gripe? The walls are a tad thin, so if there’s a lively group next door, you might hear snippets of conversation, but it never kept me up – especially after a long day exploring.
All in all, if you’re heading to Verona and want something authentic without the chaos of the historic center – like, it’s a 20-minute stroll or quick bus ride to Juliet’s balcony and the Arena – Casa Palladio 29 is a gem. It’s got that 9-out-of-10 rating for a reason: thoughtful touches, friendly staff who know the city inside out (ask for bike rental spots; they pointed me to one on Corso Milano), and a peaceful retreat after pounding the pavements. Well, sort of peaceful – avoid peak summer when the stadium crowds amp up, but in shoulder seasons, it’s bliss. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe even catch a match this time. If you’re traveling solo or with a partner, this place just feels right – practical, charming, and full of those little Italian surprises that make a trip memorable. (Word count: 428)

Arianna, the host is very responsive. She answered inquiries immediately. The check-in instructions were very clear. The property was meticulously cleaned and well equipped. There was everything I needed. It is in a walking distance to the train station. The area is quite and safe.
What could be improved: There were not enough electric outlets in the unit.Overall, good and comfortable stay at the apartment – Rachna from India – 17 June 2025 (8/10)
Nice and cosy apartment with balcony which is a plus point.
What could be improved: Air conditioner’s capacity is not appropriate according to size of the apartment. It took a very long time to maintain the temperature as it was very hot outside.A great base for exploring Verona. – Ta from Canada – 24 April 2025 (10/10)
A great base for exploring Verona! Located about 20 minute walk from the main plaza, it was close enough to walk everywhere.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike.A trendy and tidy stay. – Jofaut from South Africa – 28 July 2024 (8/10)
Casa Palladio has all the amenities you'll need for a comfortable stay. The self check-in process was seamless. A lovely balcony to enjoy breakfast awaited me, the garden view was a treat, an airconditioner to fight the surging temperatures and a dreamy bed to nap after a day of travelling. The apartment is trendy and tidy, and the host was kind enough to leave a welcome basket filled with goodies. Arianna is communicative and ready to answer any questions. There are a couple of coffee shops and stores/grocers located within walking distance. Fresco Mio being my favorite with a selection of ready made meals to quickly heat and eat upon arrival. The town itself with it's famed Arena and Juliet's house is about a twenty-three minute (direct) walk from the apartment building. You can cover all the must-see attraction by foot, nap, and do it all over again.
What could be improved: This is not aimed at the property at all. However I have to mention I had to cut my stay short due to safety concerns. As a solo female traveler I am cautious and select my locations with care. Unfortunately, while Casa Palladio provides all the needed amenities it would be irresponsible of me to say that it is safe for women who wish to walk around alone during the day and night. The host agreed that precautions should be taken and that it would be useful to carry some deterrent.
If you're a couple or booking as a group, this apartment would be ideal. However, if you're a solo female I'd suggest a location in the centre of the town where you can easily navigate the area OR make use of registered taxis.A clean apartment, a helpful host and a pretty good location. – Ross from Australia – 11 June 2024 (9/10)
