Casa Spinetta Malaspina – Verona Apartments Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Casa Spinetta Malaspina – Verona Apartments? It’s one of those places that feels way more special than you expect from the name alone. I mean, when you’re scrolling through apartment rentals in Verona, you sort of brace yourself for either touristy mediocrity or overpriced disappointment – but this place actually delivers something different.

The building itself has this gorgeous historic character that immediately tells you you’re staying somewhere with real roots in the city. Walking through those heavy wooden doors for the first time, there’s this sense of stepping into authentic Veronese life rather than just another sanitized rental property. The apartments are genuinely spacious too, which honestly surprised me given how cramped some Italian city accommodations can be. You get proper living areas where you can actually spread out your stuff, cook a real meal if you want to skip the restaurant scene for a night, and just… breathe a little. The kitchens are well-equipped enough that I found myself picking up ingredients at the local markets – there’s something satisfying about making morning coffee in your own space when you’re traveling, you know?

What really sold me on the place though was how it sits in the city. You’re not stuck right in the thick of the tourist chaos around Juliet’s balcony and the arena, but you’re definitely not exiled to some far-flung neighborhood either. It’s positioned where you can walk to the main sights when you want them, but retreat to streets that feel more like where actual Veronese people live their daily lives. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of local cafes, small shops, and residential calm that makes you feel less like a visitor and more like a temporary resident. Parking was actually manageable too – and anyone who’s tried to navigate a car through Verona’s historic center knows that’s no small thing. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward waiting around or confusing key pickup situations you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I appreciated that they clearly know what they’re doing when it comes to hosting travelers. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s the kind of place that consistently gets the details right without making a big show of it. Honestly, it’s exactly what you want from a Verona base: comfortable, authentic, and positioned so you can experience the city like someone who actually lives there rather than just rushing between tourist checkpoints.

Reviews of Casa Spinetta Malaspina – Verona Apartments

  • Teona from Georgia – 24 February 2025 (10/10)

    It was very good.
    Location, cleanliness 👌🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Margaret from Italy – 30 November 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was spacious with a bathroom for each bedroom. The pictures are perfectly accurate to the property. Our requests for early check-in and late checkout were accepted which was very kind since we were traveling with young children. Overall it was a great quick trip and it left us wishing we had booked for longer!

What could be improved: We had challenges accessing the building at first, but a kind neighbor helped us.

  • Martin from United Kingdom – 10 November 2024 (9/10)

Great location. Easy walk to central old town. Parking was ok. Local shops had what we needed. Easy to gain entry with the instructions. Very comfortable accommodation for 5 adults. Heating was good – November stay.

What could be improved: Nice not to have to buy salt and pepper but a bit of olive oil would have been appreciated

  • Marie-gabrielle from Switzerland – 17 September 2024 (10/10)

Check-in very easy: just a code to open the door, no keys.
Huge rooms with a bathroom for each. Elegant furniture.
In a nice part of town (Veronetta) and very close to the historical center (5-10 min walk).

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Lihi from Israel – 9 September 2024 (10/10)

    Lovely, spacious, warm. Loved it

  • Marzena from Italy – 30 July 2024 (10/10)

Space… a lot of space! Well equipped kitchen and AC in each room!!! YES!!! Large showers – one for each room, nice kitchen and dining room. It's quiet at night as it is away from any main roads. The design is magnificent… beautifully done to keep some of the frescos and add modern pieces.

What could be improved: The area seemed a bit dangerous… and it is a bit far away from the center if you have a small child (18 minutes). There is no view from the windows.

  • Syed from United States – 1 July 2024 (9/10)

Location was good – specially liked the small cafes around. Room sizes are good, liked the new and clean bathrooms.

What could be improved: For last two days there were too much noise from the on-going maintenance thoaugh it was said they will nt work during our stay. Was there any air-condotioning – if there was could not find the thermostat.

  • Christine from United Kingdom – 14 June 2024 (8/10)

It was great to have three big bedrooms all with their own bathroom.

What could be improved: The scaffolding that was up around the building. It was covered in a tarpaulin that made the apartment very dark. The owner did let us know beforehand but not with enough time to cancel and rebook elsewhere.

  • Peter from Switzerland – 2 June 2024 (8/10)

really big, basically three separate apartments

What could be improved: one shower did not work
    construction site

  • Jacqueline from United Kingdom – 29 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was spacious with good amenities.
Very comfortable beds had a great nights sleep.
Welcome drinks were a really good bonus. Nothing was to much trouble for the host .

What could be improved: More towels for longer stays, instructions for Aircon .
