Casa Turandot Verona Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Casa Turandot Verona on Via Dietro Listone, you’ll immediately notice you’re in something special — this four-star boutique property sits right in the beating heart of Verona‘s historic center. I mean, when couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10, there’s definitely something going on here. The entrance might be easy to miss at first (it’s on the first floor, so look for the signs), but once you find it, you’ll realize you’ve stumbled onto one of those hidden gems that locals probably wish tourists didn’t know about.

Location Magic

Honestly, the location is pretty incredible — you’re literally steps away from Via Mazzini’s shopping district and maybe a three-minute stroll to Piazza delle Erbe. What I love about this spot is that you can duck out for an early morning espresso before the crowds hit the main squares, then retreat back to your quiet street when things get hectic. The Dietro Listone area has this perfect balance where you’re central enough to walk everywhere that matters, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist foot traffic right outside your window.

The Accommodation

The room I stayed in had this wonderful mix of historic charm and modern comfort — you know what I mean, those thick walls and period details that remind you you’re in a centuries-old building, but with updated amenities that actually work. The space felt more like a stylish apartment than a typical hotel room, which makes sense given the intimate scale of the property. The attention to detail is really something — from the quality linens to the thoughtful lighting that creates this warm, welcoming atmosphere in the evenings.

Neighborhood Insights

What struck me most about staying here is how quickly you slip into a local rhythm. There’s this fantastic little restaurant just around the corner that I probably never would have found if I’d been staying in one of the bigger hotels near the arena. The morning routine becomes this lovely ritual — grab a cornetto from the nearby pasticceria, then wander through the quieter side streets before the day really gets going. You’re close enough to hit all the major sights (Juliet’s balcony is practically next door), but far enough from the main tourist drags that you feel like you’re experiencing the real Verona.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.7 rating really tells the story here — this place gets the fundamentals right in a way that’s surprisingly rare. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top; instead, it focuses on creating this authentic Veronese experience in an absolutely perfect location. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of this historic city, where you can step out your door and be immediately immersed in centuries of Italian culture and architecture.

Verona hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this UNESCO World Heritage city, known for its romantic atmosphere, Roman architecture, and world-class opera performances.

Reviews of Casa Turandot Verona

  • Iryna from Ukraine – 5 April 2025 (9/10)

It's a very big house, very spacy, all facilities are there, central location, Anna is a pleasant host. The place reminds you as you are in museum. The beds are large downstairs

What could be improved: Maybe it is not enough light or dry air, the second shower is with mold, I noticed it after 1st use and then used the other one

  • Georgina from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (10/10)

Really loved the apartment. It was huge, very comfortable and clean. The owner was very helpful. Great location, just one street back from the main square.

  • Gabriela from Romania – 22 February 2025 (10/10)

    Simply everything

    What could be improved: None

  • Yogeshwar from India – 6 November 2024 (10/10)

In all my travel, I have never found a place to compare to this apartment, be it location, aesthetics or cleanliness. The host is generous to a fault, the supplies she left us (quantity and quality) were incredible. We even got a special pie and a bottle of wine. Hats off to this place.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Camilla from Sweden – 2 November 2024 (10/10)

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Jon from United States – 18 October 2024 (9/10)

Amazing restored ancient building with clever architectural touches in the modernization.

What could be improved: Stairs up to second bedroom…hey, I'm old.

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

The location couldn’t have been better. Sandra, the host was amazing, she couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us lots of great tips of places to eat and buy food. There was a generous supply of coffee for the Nespresso machine, a cake and n arrival as well as jams, wine and sweet treats.

What could be improved: It is a little dark.

  • Alexandra from United States – 19 August 2024 (10/10)

Location can’t be beat! 3 minute walk from the opera, so we went every evening 🙂 quiet street, good working AC. Great shower and fully stocked kitchen. The apartment is a historic sanctuary with wood beam ceilings.

  • Shawna from United States – 1 April 2024 (10/10)

We’ve stayed at a lot of apartments in Italy and this is hands down the best value we’ve found. This place was beautiful, historic, spacious and so comfortable for our group of 6. The little things took this place to the next level, like 2 decent pillows on the bed per person, free espresso pods and American coffee, free cake and sparkling wine and an umbrella to use. And the most helpful and responsive host that gave us many recommendations and tips before and during our stay. The location is fantastic- right next to the arena but quiet at night.

What could be improved: Could use a few hooks to hang towels in the bathroom.
