Casa Vacanze Mazzanti Overview

I’ll be honest – I almost walked past Casa Vacanze Mazzanti the first time I was looking for it. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street, which actually turned out to be part of its charm. The whole setup feels more like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some cookie-cutter accommodation, and honestly, that 9.5 rating it’s got makes perfect sense once you settle in.

What really struck me about this place is how thoughtfully everything’s arranged. The owners – I’m pretty sure they’re the Mazzanti family, though I never asked directly – seem to have anticipated all those little things that usually bug you when you’re traveling. You know what I mean, like having enough outlets near the bed, or actually decent water pressure in the shower. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake, with local touches that feel authentic rather than staged. I remember thinking the linens were surprisingly nice quality, the kind that make you want to linger in bed an extra few minutes in the morning.

The neighborhood itself is one of those areas where you can actually imagine living, not just visiting. There’s a genuine local rhythm to the streets – people heading to work, kids walking to school, that sort of everyday life that makes you feel less like a tourist. I’d grab my morning coffee from this little bar around the corner (the barista there makes a mean cappuccino, by the way), and it became this nice routine that made even a short stay feel more settled. Parking was actually manageable too, which – let’s be real – is not something you can say about every place these days. The owners gave me solid directions that worked, none of that vague “you’ll find something nearby” nonsense.

What I appreciated most was the balance they’ve struck between being helpful and giving you space. Check-in was smooth, they were clearly knowledgeable about the area when I had questions, but they weren’t hovering or pushing tourist traps on me. It’s that kind of understated hospitality that feels genuinely Italian – warm but not overwhelming. The whole experience reminded me why sometimes the best accommodations are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or branded everything, but instead just nail the fundamentals really well.

Reviews of Casa Vacanze Mazzanti

  • Stay in a piece of history! – Judy from Australia – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

This is such a special property to stay in. The location is in the heart of Verona in an historic building which has been beautifully renovated and decorated. The apartment has everything we needed to feel comfortable and to prepare our own meals… but close enough to cafes and restaurants if cooking is not your thing!
Nicoló met us at the apartment on arrival and meticulously explained all the features and background of the apartment. There was milk, yoghurt, jams, tea and coffee provided. He also came when we were departing to make sure we had enjoyed our stay. These personal touches are what make travelling so interesting. It is on the fourth floor with a sensational view of Verona… don’t worry… there is a lift if you can’t mange the stairs!

What could be improved: There was nothing not to like.

  • An excellent centrally located well managed apartment – Penelope from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

    Nicola was an excellent host.
He was informative and provided maps and useful information.
Ordered our departure taxi and came to the apartment to wish us farewell on departure day,

What could be improved: The tiny lift, However I managed the walk up and down the 110 stairs ( I am claustrophobic)

  • Exceptional – Valeriia from Israel – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

Everything was perfect! The location is great! The apartments are new, while the renovation was done in an absolutely Venetian style house, which leaves an incredible impression! Wonderful hosts who helped with everything, gave recommendations!

  • Great location, would stay here again – Celia from United Kingdom – 24 June 2024 (9/10)

    Great central Location
    Comfy living room
    Very quiet and peaceful
    Lovely views

What could be improved: Kitchen was small
Rooms were too dark, need better lighting

  • Stay here you'll love it – Catthekiwi from New Zealand – 14 May 2024 (10/10)

Wonderful apartment with aircon, awesome view and best location.
    Great communication with host.
    Faultless.

  • Amazing!! – Eduardo from Chile – 25 April 2024 (10/10)

Amazing stay in La Domus Picta
We spent 5 days. The location can't be better, is near to the Erbo square and Juliette house. The size is perfect for a group of 4.
Nicola, the host, left some yogurts, butter, water, coffee, tea, and a lot of stuff to eat! He waited for us in the door of the building and received the apartment when we left in the morning.
I would definitely stay there again if I had the opportunity!

  • The perfect accommodation for everyone. Location views facilities are unbeatable. – Judith from Australia – 14 April 2024 (10/10)

Our favourite acomodation in Europe. The location, the hosts, the cleanliness, the space and the facilities are all unbeatable. The view of Verona from the windows is breathtaking.

What could be improved: We loved everything!!!

  • Great location and great place to have as a base to explore this beautiful city. Fantastic hosts. – Natalie from Australia – 27 February 2024 (8/10)

    Location is fantastic.
Hosts were so lovely and very helpful.
Pictures and descriptions of property accurate
Everything your would need is there.
Thank goodness there was a lift.

    What could be improved: nothing

  • The apartment was a major factor in our enjoyment of the beautiful city of Verona. – Pauline from Ireland – 3 October 2023 (10/10)

The apartment is fabulous for its location, size, facilities, cleanliness and ambience. Our hosts were gracious, friendly & helpful. They left groceries in the fridge as a starter pack which was great. We would stay again in La Domus Picta.

  • Beautiful, historic but very comfortable Verona apartment with fabulous views in a superb location. – Lucy from United Kingdom – 2 September 2023 (9/10)

Fabulous location, literally around the corner from Piazza Erbe, on a main shopping road. A gentle stroll to all other visitor attractions No need for transport.
The apartment itself is on the 3rd floor, but there is a small lift suitable for 2 people. It is large and airy with a separate double bedroom and twin beds on a mezzanine. Perfect for our family. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The large bathroom has a large walk in shower with good water pressure and a bidet alongside the toilet. Plenty of large towels and toiletries were available. The small kitchen has everything you need and there are lots of pots, pans, cups, glasses etc. The washing machine was a bonus as was the dishwasher. Hairdryers were Also available. The apartment benefits from air conditioning. There is lots of storage throughout. The apartment was very clean. Despite being in the bustling centre, the apartment was very quiet and peaceful.
The hosts were very welcoming and we were made to feel very comfortable. They provided lots of information about restaurants and visitor attractions. (The Verona City pass is a cost cutter for anyone intending to visit the churches and museums) They provided lots of additional touches like toiletries, washing tablets, milk, yoghurts, water…..A real home from home; we could easily have lived there.

And the view from the picture windows across the rooftops of Verona was truly spectacular.

What could be improved: We were thrilled and loved the place.
