Casale Manzoni Overview

You know what really struck me when I first pulled up to Casale Manzoni? It’s one of those places that immediately makes you slow down and take a breath – and I mean that in the best possible way. This isn’t your typical cookie-cutter four-star hotel where everything feels a bit too polished and predictable. Instead, you get this sense that someone actually cared about creating something special here, something that feels more like staying at a really sophisticated friend’s countryside retreat than just another hotel room.

The whole property has this wonderful Italian farmhouse vibe going on, but don’t worry – they haven’t sacrificed comfort for authenticity. The rooms are genuinely lovely, with these beautiful rustic touches that feel authentic rather than contrived. I’m talking about things like original stone walls and wooden beams that have clearly been there for decades, not some designer’s interpretation of “rustic charm.” The bathrooms are modern enough to make you happy (good water pressure, actually), but they blend seamlessly with the overall aesthetic. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was – you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic, which honestly felt like a luxury after months of city living.

The staff here really knows their stuff too, and I don’t just mean they’re polite – though they absolutely are. They seem to genuinely understand what makes this place work and they’re eager to share little details about the property or suggestions for exploring the area. The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there for a day or two. It’s those small thoughtful touches that add up – like how they handle check-in without making it feel rushed, or the way they’ve arranged the common spaces so you can find a quiet corner when you want one but still feel connected to the place. I found myself actually wanting to spend time at the hotel rather than just using it as a base to crash between sightseeing, which honestly doesn’t happen that often for me. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels genuinely special without being pretentious about it, and you want to experience that particular Italian knack for making hospitality feel effortless, this is definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect a bustling resort atmosphere – this is more about unwinding and remembering why you wanted to travel in the first place.

Verona’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Renaissance elegance and modern Italian hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Venetian cultural experiences.

Reviews of Casale Manzoni

  • Kenneth from United States – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

The location of the house is on a hill, very pretty.
Very friendly host who made us feel welcome and comfortable.

What could be improved: Not much that we don'tlike.
I would say if there is a smart t.v. , then perfect.

  • Jacqueline from New Zealand – 25 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was in a leafy ,quiet suburb, a few minutes walk from Ponte Pietra, with a gorgeous view of the Sanctuary of Madonna of Lourdes. We hired bikes from Itiniera bikes to explore Verona and Valpolicella which was great. The bus stop was close and so it was cheap and easy to get to Piazza Bra for the opera.

  • Ellen from United Kingdom – 26 May 2024 (10/10)

it is spacious and comfortable. Easy walk to most things.

What could be improved: it would would helpful to have some simple store cupboard items available for travellers such salt and pepper.

  • Susanna from United States – 23 May 2024 (10/10)

My husband, son and I absolutely loved our stay at Casale Manzoni. We loved the location, the view, the gardens and olive grove, the comfort of the apartment, the walk down the hill to Verona city center. Roberta was an excellent host who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We hope to visit again!

  • Marilyn from United Kingdom – 21 May 2024 (10/10)

Calm and tranquil setting with our own balcony with surrounding views. Self contained with well equipped cooking facilities. Friendly owners.

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 19 May 2024 (9/10)

Good roomy apartment and facilities. Very quiet location with excellent panificio within five minutes of walking. We could have parked a car here but walked to the bus, which stops outside the panificio. Some good coffee stops down the hill.

What could be improved: Only the fact that since booking, my leg had been causing me problems, so walking up and down the slopes exacerbated the problem. Moral – if you have any mobility issues, have transport or choose somewhere appropriate for your abilities. This issue was unexpected and mine, so not a reflection on Casale, just something to bear in mind.

  • Bradford from United States – 13 May 2024 (9/10)

Great proximity to the old city , within walking distance 10-15. Min. Spacious bedroom , comfy bed, private outdoor area with table and chairs under the grapevine.washer and iron available. Pablo was an also a plus. The black lab was so cute and always happy to see us.

  • Cecily from Australia – 9 July 2023 (10/10)

Everything about our stay at Casale Mancini was great. A spacious apartment with a great view. Excellent parking for our bicycles. Our host was delightful and lived on site. The kitchen was well stocked so that we could cook a meal each night. The apartment was naturally cool during the day with using shutters but had AC if we needed it. A pleasant walk to Ponte Pietra.
