Case VR Holiday Cangrande on the River Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Case VR Holiday Cangrande on the River, you immediately understand why this four-star property gets such stellar reviews. The building sits right along Lungadige Cangrande — honestly, you can’t get much closer to the Adige River without getting your feet wet. I mean, the location alone earned it a 9.7 score, and after spending time here, I totally get why couples are giving it perfect 10s for romantic getaways.
The Borgo Trento Advantage
Here’s what locals know that most tourists don’t — Borgo Trento is actually Verona’s most coveted residential area. You’re far enough from the tourist crowds around Juliet’s balcony, but close enough that a pleasant 15-minute walk gets you to the Arena di Verona. The neighborhood has this authentic Italian vibe where you’ll see families doing their evening passeggiata along the river. There’s parking right on site too, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving — finding a spot in central Verona can be a nightmare.
Your Home Base
The apartment setup here really works well, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. Each unit feels more like a stylish Italian home than a typical hotel room — you’ve got space to spread out and actually live a bit. The kitchen comes fully equipped, and I found myself picking up fresh produce from the local market just because I could. The river views from most units are genuinely lovely, particularly in the early morning when the light hits the water just right.
Living Like a Local
What I really appreciated was how the property lets you experience Verona at a different pace. You know what I mean? Instead of rushing from sight to sight, you can grab a coffee from the corner bar, take it back to your terrace, and just watch the city wake up along the riverbank. The Borgo Trento area has some fantastic family-run trattorias that most guidebooks miss entirely — the kind of places where the nonna is still making pasta in the back kitchen. You’re also perfectly positioned for evening walks along the Adige, which honestly beats any expensive dinner cruise.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects how this place gets the balance right between comfort and authenticity. You’re not staying in some generic hotel chain; you’re living in a beautifully appointed space in one of Verona’s most desirable neighborhoods. The river location means you wake up to water views instead of traffic noise, and the Borgo Trento setting gives you that genuine Italian residential experience. Plus, having your own space with cooking facilities means you can save money on meals while still enjoying the occasional splurge at a proper Veronese restaurant. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re visiting friends rather than just passing through as a tourist.

Krásné místo ve třetím patře nad řekou. Klidný dům. Ložnice je na druhé straně domu – opačné, než je ulice a proto klidné celou noc i den. Zařízení je moderní a čisté. Do středu města je to pěšky cca 10 minut.
What could be improved: V kuchyni schází varná konev. Jinak je zařízena dobře.Marcelvm from Netherlands – 1 September 2024 (9/10)
Airco was fijn want het was bloedheet
What could be improved: Echt enige minpuntje was dat er geen waterkoker aanwezig was.Catherine from United Kingdom – 17 August 2024 (9/10)
The location was good overlooking the river and ten minutes walk into town. It’s a good size apartment and the air conditioning was most welcome as it was very hot. The shutters on the windows were good as they also helped to keep the rooms cool. It’s a nice balcony with good views, but you could only sit out early morning or late evening as the sun shone on it all day. The apartment is on the 3rd floor so it was good having a lift.
What could be improved: All good no complaintsYvonne from Switzerland – 14 August 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Leider keine eigenen Parkplätze.
Colin from United Kingdom – 8 June 2024 (10/10)
Great host.
Great location close to all that Verona has to offer

The location of the apartment is excellent. It is not in the historical center, but 300 meters apart from it. The apartment is clean and fully equipped. Apatrs have one double bed, one single bed and one big sofa bed (for two persons). Actually it is a good accomodation. Clean, equiped and good value for this price. The description is completely true.
What could be improved: Parking. Hoster does not provide free parking. I rented a private parking "Saba" (address: Via S. Camillo de Lellis, 37126 Verona VR). I advise you to book it online and you will have a discount (3 days cost 43 EUR with online booking). Book here: https://www.sabait.it/it/parcheggio-verona/parcheggio-saba-ospedale-borgo-trento. In the case of online booking, you will have multiple enter/exits during the booked period. On each parking entry, you take a ticket, and then for each exit, you should call the support via SOS button on the exit parking terminal and say your booking reference.
As another option for parking. In the internal area of the house, there are some white parking places (in Italy white parking places are free), but there is not any guarantee that they will be available.Tanja from Belgium – 25 September 2023 (10/10)
Location, clean, towels and bedlinnen incl. Dishwasher, coffe, microwave … all what’s needed and more

The stay was perfect—even above expectations (trust me, the apartment is even more beautiful than pictures). The self check-in process went smoothly, so that we could arrive at late night with no problems. Everything in the apartment was new and clean; it has 2 big rooms (1 double, 1 single) and a beautiful living room with views on Castelvecchio and San Zeno church. It provided everything we needed—it felt like home: there’s an equipped kitchen, a laundry, a majestic big shower, TV+sofa, and a beautiful terrace over the Adige river where we had breakfast 😍
The price was fair considering the offering—being a family, the price was less than what we could find in the city center.
I will for sure come back and suggest this stay to my friends!
What could be improved: I would just liked staying longer!
