Nothing fancy like a spa or pool, but there’s a little kitchenette in the apartments that’s great for whipping up pasta with ingredients from the market on Corso Porta Borsari. Oh, and noise-wise, it can get lively at night with the square’s energy – earplugs helped me, but if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a quieter room facing the back courtyard. The beds were comfy, though, and that 7.9 rating feels spot-on; it’s solid four-star value without pretending to be a palace.

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona for the romance or the history – well, this spot puts you right in the heart of it, making day trips to Lake Garda or even a quick jaunt to the Adige River bridges super easy on foot. I left feeling like I’d gotten a real taste of the city, not just a sterile hotel stay. Sure, it’s not perfect – the bathrooms are a tad compact, and breakfast is basic (grab a cornetto from a nearby bar instead) – but for the price and that unbeatable location, I’d go back in a heartbeat. Especially in shoulder season like April or October, when the crowds thin out and you can actually hear your own thoughts amid the piazza’s hum. You know what?
