Corte Roveggia – Bilocale Monet Overview

You know what really struck me about Corte Roveggia – Bilocale Monet? It’s one of those places that feels like you’ve stumbled into someone’s thoughtfully curated guest apartment rather than a typical hotel room. I mean, the name gives it away – this is clearly part of a larger estate or historic property that’s been converted into accommodations, and honestly, they’ve done it really well.

The Monet suite itself has this lovely lived-in elegance that I wasn’t expecting from a 3-star property. The bilocale setup (that’s Italian for a two-room apartment, by the way) actually gives you proper space to breathe – there’s a separate living area where you can actually sit and have your morning coffee without perching on the edge of a bed. The decor has these subtle nods to the impressionist painter it’s named after, but it’s not heavy-handed or kitschy. Just soft color palettes and natural light that changes throughout the day in the most beautiful way. I found myself just watching how the afternoon sun hit the walls differently – very Monet-esque, actually.

What really won me over was the attention to those little details that most places completely miss. The kitchen area is small but functional enough that you could make a proper breakfast if you wanted to skip the dining room some mornings. There’s decent water pressure in the shower (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re traveling), and the beds are genuinely comfortable – not just “hotel comfortable” where you’re grateful it’s not terrible. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of score that comes from guests who appreciate quality without expecting luxury resort amenities. I did notice some minor wear around the edges – a slightly loose door handle here, some paint touch-ups that could use refreshing there – but nothing that actually impacted my stay. If anything, it added to the authentic, historic character of the place rather than detracting from it. The staff clearly takes pride in maintaining the property, and you can feel that care in how everything’s been preserved and presented.

Apartments in Verona provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Italian markets and experience daily life in historic Renaissance neighborhoods.

Reviews of Corte Roveggia – Bilocale Monet

  • Dan from United Kingdom – 16 September 2024 (3/10)

We stayed here on 23rd of August for 1 night only. The place itself had a gated car park which was a big plus, if not actually the biggest. The overall appearance of the apartment was the same as in the advert. A big plus was the air con system and the fact that we managed to get a good sleep so we can hit the road early in the morning. The place was big and fairly ok equipped but there was a lot of potential to make it better, warmer and cleaner.
Now the interesting part… When we entered the property, there was a noticeable garbage bin smell in the hallway leading to the apartment. In the apartment, on the ground floor in the living/dining area, there were loads of flies and the guy who handed us the keys said he left the windows open when he ventilated the apartment but said we could get rid of them by using the electric zapper/racket designed to kill flies/mosquitos, etc. ''Nice gadget, quality bit of kit'' which did the job and was fun to use in the end, ironically speaking, but come on…. what on earth was that? Nobody was expecting a luxury hotel with a 5-star Michelin-rated restaurant, but this was unbelievable…. and not in a positive way!
Not that we are planning to come back to Verona anytime soon, but if that would happen, I would avoid this place at all costs! I advise anyone to steer away!
