You know what caught me off guard about Cozy!! Verona? Those exclamation marks in the name actually make sense once you step inside. This three-star spot on via Ghetto feels like someone’s stylish Italian aunt decided to open a guesthouse — and honestly, that’s exactly the vibe you want when you’re exploring Verona. The building itself has that weathered charm you find all over this part of the city, but inside it’s been updated with just the right touch.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about via Ghetto — despite the name, it’s actually in a really solid part of town. I mean, you’re close enough to the main sights that you can walk everywhere, but far enough from the tourist chaos around Juliet’s balcony that you can actually breathe. The street has this authentic neighborhood feel where you’ll see locals doing their daily shopping, and there’s a fantastic little bakery just two blocks down that I stumbled upon during my morning walks. You can reach the Arena di Verona in about fifteen minutes on foot, which is perfect timing to grab a coffee along the way.

The Room Experience

My room was smaller than what you’d find in a chain hotel, but it had character — exposed beams, updated bathroom, and this little reading nook by the window that I actually used. The beds are comfortable enough, and the air conditioning works well (crucial during Verona’s sticky summers). What I appreciated most was the attention to details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and blackout curtains that actually block the light. The WiFi is solid throughout the building, which matters when you’re trying to research dinner spots or book tickets for the opera.

Neighborhood Charm

This area really comes alive in the evenings when the locals emerge for their aperitivo ritual. There’s an excellent wine bar about five minutes away where the owner, Marco, knows every bottle in his collection and will happily guide you through Veneto’s lesser-known varietals. The nearby streets have that perfect mix of residential calm and authentic Italian life — you’ll hear conversations drifting from windows and catch glimpses of beautifully tiled courtyards. It’s the kind of place where you start to feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

Why Guests Love It

Couples especially seem drawn to this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about the intimate scale and the way the staff remembers your name after the first day. The value is genuinely good for what you get, especially considering how expensive Verona can be during peak season. You’re not getting five-star amenities, but you are getting a authentic slice of Italian hospitality in a city that can sometimes feel overrun by tour groups. Plus, the location means you can easily duck back for an afternoon rest between sightseeing sessions, which honestly saved my energy for evening strolls along the Adige.

  It was extremely cozy and the kitchen is great! The owner was extremely nice and really friendly, i hade a great stay.

  Clean and felt very safe here. Lovely staff. Remote check in service that works. Good WiFi. Smart TV. Not too far from the train station. Got advise visa WhatsApp for transport routes. Clean bathrooms. Comfortable bed.

  It was no hotel, so I was really impressed, how the room looked like. Oh has a big bathroom, air-conditioning and a very comfortable bed. You can find a kitchen to cook and do the laundry. It was very clean. I came a bit earlier and the (very nice host) allowed me to leave the luggage. You can find any information about the connections in the city.
  
  What could be improved: Cozy! Is quite far away from the city center. It is good connected, but the bus stations are not easy to find. I have a very good experience with Google maps here. Take 62 or 24 from Verona Porta Nova.

  It was really nice and cozy, there was cold water in the fridge and a fan on the ceiling, good base to have when you want to see the city.
  
  What could be improved: Shower was very small but it’s just a little inconvenience.

  Cozy and quiet place close to the train station. It took me 15-20 min to get to the main train station/city center from here by direct bus with the stop near the hotel.
  
  The beds were comfy, there was a fridge and also a kitchen with some appliances (but I have not used it). I really liked the Wi-Fi connection and the fact that TV also has access to it, so you can watch YouTube or Netflix in the evening.
  
  Host also gave me a great tips on how to get to city center, where're the nearest shops, malls and cafes.
  
  What could be improved: It was quite hard to regulate water temperature in the shower, it was a little bit too hot and the hose was installed so like I could not turn tap to the right to make the water colder, I was afraid to break the hose by this.
  
  It's a ground floor with windows looking to the small road where cars park. So it's was better to keep the curtains closed.

  It was super clean and the owner was super kind, very helpful person. It was easy to find and get in.
  
  What could be improved: We had to walk because we arrived late but it was our problem, otherwise it is so easy to get to the place by bus or you can choose to walk in day, I do not recommend to walk from the bus station to there at night, it was a bit scary 🙂

  Perfectly fine to have a nice stay in Verona for a few days. The kitchen is shared with the others and equiped with everything you need to cook a good meal. Room and Bathroom are private and can be locked. There are many bus stations nearby to get to the city center.
