Daydreaming House Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Daydreaming House feels like discovering a well-kept secret right in the heart of Verona. The name honestly couldn’t be more fitting — there’s something about this three-star property that makes you want to slow down and just breathe. It sits on Piazza Renato Simoni, which I’ll admit isn’t the most famous square in the city, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re still completely central, just without the constant buzz of tour groups that you get around the main attractions.
Location & Getting Around
The location here is genuinely fantastic — couples especially seem to love it, and I can see why. You’re literally steps from Via Mazzini, Verona’s main shopping street, and it’s maybe a five-minute walk to Piazza delle Erbe. What I really appreciate is that you can walk to Juliet’s House in about three minutes, but when you come back to the hotel, you escape all that tourist chaos. The train station is close enough that you won’t need a taxi, but far enough that you don’t hear any noise. It’s that sweet spot that’s hard to find in historic city centers.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really surprised me — the beds are incredibly comfortable. I mean, you know how hotel beds can be hit or miss? Well, these are definitely a hit. The room I stayed in wasn’t huge (this is a historic building after all), but it was thoughtfully designed with everything you actually need. The bathroom was modern and clean, which honestly matters more than fancy marble when you’re getting ready for a day of sightseeing. The windows open onto the piazza, and there’s something really lovely about the morning light filtering in.
Practical Details
What I found refreshing is how straightforward everything is here. Check-in was smooth, the staff speaks good English, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations — not just the obvious tourist spots, but places locals actually go. The building has that authentic Italian feel without being stuffy or overly formal. There’s no restaurant on-site, but honestly, you’re in Verona — you want to be out exploring the incredible food scene anyway. They do provide good coffee in the morning, which is all you really need to get started.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for an excellent location, genuinely comfortable accommodations, and that intangible feeling of being in the real Verona rather than a tourist bubble. The fact that couples rate the location so highly tells you something — it’s romantic without being contrived, central without being chaotic. If you want a base for exploring the city that feels authentic and won’t break the bank, Daydreaming House delivers exactly that. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that simply do everything well rather than trying to wow you with unnecessary extras.

The location was central to the train station and the centre of town. Antonella was very accommodating and allowed usto leave our bags before checkin so we could walk around. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
What could be improved: Not a dislike just a recommendation – a full length mirror would be nice in the room.Ekaterine from Georgia – 26 February 2025 (9/10)

We felt safe in our room, but it wasn't what we expected.
What could be improved: The entire room and the furnishings could have been more up to date.Helena from Slovenia – 11 December 2024 (8/10)
Good location, comfortable room
What could be improved: Unable to store the luggage before/after check in. You have to find a left luggage storage for that and on Sundays hardly any are open.Lika from Georgia – 26 November 2024 (9/10)
